"I purchased a Specialized commuter from now-closed Menlo Velo (RIP) less than two years ago. About three weeks ago I noticed a failed weld on the frame. I called Palo Alto Cycles and they instructed me to no longer ride that bike , as it could potentially break mid-ride. I brought the bike in and Christian worked his magic to get Specialized to honor the two-year warranty and ship me a new bike. The shop did a great job building the new bike and transferring components from my old bike. They even replaced the break components since Specialized had sent a bit of a lemon break-wise (they leaked). Christian and the guys at Palo Alto Cycles went above and beyond with the new bike , and may have even saved my life with their advice to not ride the broken bike. Hats off to them. Honestly I was very impressed with their service."

"Inaccurate and pretty rude… On the shop website, I ordered a pair of socks as a gift for in-store pickup. The website told me the order would be ready for pickup on Thursday (they only had to be collected from the shop warehouse), which was perfect since I needed to give the gift on Friday morning. Come Wednesday, I call the shop and am told they can give me no information nor do they know if my order will be ready on time. I show up on Thursday, and the gift is not there. The younger man working at the register was nice and apologetic, but his manager was unhelpful and would not match the price to a comparable product. I went from here to Summit Bicycles and found a reasonably-priced alternative along with friendly people."
