"They stole our jackets and never gave it back. They pulled one of my friend's arm and his arm is hurt so bad that and it's purple now. We have video of how their employee assaulted one of our friends. We are pressing charges at the police station today and filed a report. Stay away from this gay bar. Since they sold this place to greedy people. They have never been to same. Stay away. It's not gay friendly. They just want your money. I have never seen a bar charging $6 for water anyway."

"Sigh. I actually really love Splash. It’s been a staple in San Jose since what seems like forever. It really gives more “flavor” to the slowly dwindling downtown area. I recently went on a Friday, so this experience speaks to what I assume the weekends are always like now. Gay/Queer bars should be a place of safety for gay people and Splash has been that for many years. However, it’s been very inclusive to the broader locals, to its detriment. The individuality, fun, expressiveness is still there but doesn’t feel like a “safe” space anymore for the community it’s supposed to represent. Don’t get me wrong, you can still have a good time but now it’s a bit changed. As a queer person you have to be more guarded because the crowd has changed to more straight guys with or without girlfriends. Or girls thinking they’re coming to safe space away from interacting with gross guys only to be faced with the exact same thing. The bartender, one of them being a female (blonde hair, dances a lot, 1st floor) was probably the WORST human being I’ve had the displeasure to meet. She was instantly condescending and dismissive. Which could have been forgiven if the bar was packed at the time. & no, I wasn’t drunk, in fact, I hadn’t had a drink until I got there. The crowd was generally chill, but kinda rowdy and leaning toward a “straight club” vibe with queer elements due to soooo many girls bringing their boyfriends or just tons of other girlfriends. It could turn “woo-girl” real quick. Generally speaking, will I be back? Maybe. But I’ll be back knowing it’s no longer a reprieve to feel included or safe for the gays and theys."

"Went on a slow Thursday and would not say this is safe place for women unfortunately. Did not feel super welcome and instead felt very targeted. Had people saying we didn’t belong. Had a group who would not stop trying to hook up with us and when we refused they pretended to be respectful and friendly, but then lied about working there, tried to order drinks and get us to pay, kept trying to take our drinks out of our hands, then followed us to the next location and caused a scene when we were able to get a ride home away from them. Not the clubs fault, but just keep an eye out and use the buddy system. Seeing multiple other people in the reviews saying the same."

"As of 04/17/21 This bar is Open...It's just picking up, they have still the distance and mask restrictions. If you go around 7 is better you have more chances to get inside and stay there or else the have tables on the street. Good music. I started feeling kinda going back to normal."

"One of the funnest bars in the bay. Even more diverse than badlands in SF. Such a great mix of people whether queer or straight. The drinks are decent and weekends are always busy"
