"Wonderful accommodations, and even had a king suite available for a super last minute reservation. Great rustic room with an extra large jacuzzi."
"Edited after owner response, check the bottom. Horrible customer service, I'd leave 0 stars if I could. Do not stay here if you have a service dog they will find any excuse to charge you fees for damages. Full story below. On the way home from a road trip we booked a room online at about 11:30 when we were a few miles away and checked in before midnight so I didn't have time to call and check about the service dog policy. While checking in I read the clearly posted policy and informed the receptionist that we were traveling with my brother-in-law's multipurpose service dog and was told it was not an issue, I just needed to sign some paperwork. I now realize that was a mistake, as the paperwork is a legal grayzone that allowed them to charge me fines for damages that do not exist. I finally managed to speak with the (apparent) district manager Tammy about the charges, who informed me that her child has a service dog and that my brother-in-law's did not look like a service dog to her. I am aware of federal and WI state laws regarding assistance animals so I explained that legally he was not required to be vested (we had been traveling all day so he wasn't wearing it and we entered near our room so it seemed overkill to put it on) and service dogs can be any breed of dog (my BIL's is a Rottweiler they're not the most common breed but they're not uncommon), only to be cut off by her snapping that she knows service dog laws. She asked if I had been asked the legal questions by reception, and acted like it was my fault I had not been. While legal to ask they are not legally required, and as I am not able to know their company's internal policies it was far from my fault. The damages I have been charged for are related to a smell they noticed in the room after we left, there was no odor when we left. She refused to issue a refund, and spent the whole conversation talking over me and making snarky comebacks. I was informed repeatedly that my brother-in-law did not appear disabled, that my brother-in-law's service dog did not appear to be one (based on breed and lack of vest), and telling me how lucky I was not to have been charged more (citing her employee's failure to follow policy as a reason to have charged me extra). As a disabled person in the process of getting a service dog myself and knowing many people with service dog's I'm well aware of the struggle posed by people who fake service animals, if there had been any actual damage I would have been happy to pay to resolve it. It's frustrating and disappointing that we didn't damage anything and broke no laws, yet are being treated this way by someone with preconceived notions of who can and can't be disabled. Someone who should know that disabilities show up in many ways having a service dog handler in their life themselves. Edit 12/8/23: Again, not a pet and there were no accidents. As for me yelling at multiple of your employees that is a complete fabrication either by you or your team, though based on the evidence I'm going to assume it's you, the Owner, lying about your customers to save face. I was polite in person and over the phone, I showed frustration in my voice over how your manager treated me but my word choice and volume remained professional. You can listen to the recording I took if you'd like proof of that. I am aware of how you treat negative reviews and felt it wise to document our interactions so I couldn't be misrepresented like this. Federal law only requires one party's consent to record a conversation as does Wisconsin state law, so legally I am well within my rights to have done this and not informed you. I shouldn't have to say this but any public retaliation, such as personal information, details of my stay (like the video footage from the hallway) or my conversations with your staff, will be met with legal action. You have access to both my phone number and email should you want to continue this charade or desire the recording."
"I belive Sarah was the nite person on duty she was very helpful with my sister after she had hip surgery and she couldn't get in her home . She even gave her warm blankets and helped her get ice for hip... .Thank you..."
"This place is as clean as a Hilton. Maybe cleaner. Since covid, finding a clean hotel room at anything other than an expensive hotel has been nearly impossible. The service was great, price was very reasonable, room is clean enough to nearly eat off the floor, beds are comfy. Plus the phone line works with the rotary phone I packed in my bag. Next time I am in the area and need a hotel, I will be back."
"The service was the best by far that I have experienced so far. They were extremely helpful and understanding about my card debit card being disabled and allowed me to pay with cash. Not to mention they were great for giving directions as I am not from around Barron County. The hotel staff made me feel very welcomed not only at their hotel but as well as their community ❤️"
