Tracy's Family Daycare

"Everyone's experience is different but wanting to write this for anyone who is in the same boat as us who went from a center to in home as this was a very expensive lesson. We respect not everyone will be a good fit for each other but we just did not have a good understanding of how in home differs from centers. We have a new baby coming soon and a toddler so we left our center which we loved to try in home as it is generally cheaper. During the interview we went over the sickness policy and I asked about the basics fever etc, it didn't seem too much different from what we are used to. Our daughter started and went for 1.5 days and when I picked her up was told she was congested and could not come back until it was gone, kids have runny noses coughs and all other common colds in the winter, she was acting fine and playing normally. We were told if we got a Dr note then she could come back but the policy is "symptom free" for 24 hours. No we are not trying to send our sick kid all over but that is part of daycare as kids are germ pools and have colds in the winter. We understand in homes can make their own rules as to what an illness is but as a working parent we need reliable care and can't leave everytime she has chest congestion or coughs and have never had her sent home from our center for this. We were referred to the handbook which covered everything under the sun and just not realistic for us as working parents. We lost out on $840 for 3 days of care as $420 was a "non refundable deposit" to hold our infants spot and another $420 for first and last week of care for our toddler. In this economy that is crippling and I'm disappointed in this being our first and likely last experience at in home care."

"You look for in home child care with the hopes that there is more caring and compassion for your kid, this place is the opposite. Everyday day complaints from my child that kids were mean and Tracy did nothing about it. She was terribly mean to my son, putting a 4 year old in a diaper at nap after one accident, mentally that made my son regress so far. Once summer came she made me sign a variance for her to have extra children and things only got worse for my son, along with the fact he’s seen everything on Netflix and Disney+. She is purely in this business for money and treats children and parents rudely."
