"So this experience involves stairs and an uphill walk, not brutal unless you are out of shape. Get a ranger tour and do some homework to maximize the visit. The walk carvings are key here. Cynthia, with CA Parks was a great guide"
"I wish more people can come visit this place and understand what hardships and discrimination our earlier generations had suffered through. I can’t imagine many of us today are tough enough to go through what they endured."
"Very well-done and informative museum about the past and present situations of immigration in USA. Especially the entry free hospital is the best part. It is a pity that history repeats itself, in Europe EU is also shutting off its borders for immigrations."
"We went on a field trip there and it was awesome. A lot of walking so we grabbed walking sticks and proceeded. Bill the volunteer who was our guide was very knowledgeable and so very friendly. He had a very personal connection to the immigration center. Please go and do the tour. It was well worth it. We had a blast. The ferry ride over was so cool as well."
"Very educational museum. We entered the museum with no plan to spend much time but we ended up spending over 1 hour in the building. I would highly recommend everyone to visit and learn about the history of immigrants! (see photos for just a small part of the history) Thanks Elizabeth, a respected volunteer, for sharing the story of her family and answering my questions patiently. She was eager to pour all history she knew to us."
