Reviews
"The apartment complex is well maintained and the common area is very nice. The neighborhood is very walkable with lots of dogs and kids. Our leasing agent Jordan and Mario have been very helpful and welcoming. I would highly recommend Mason on Mariposa!"
"Summary: - really nice place, the level of thought put into the architecture is clear (5*) - there is a noisy neighbor problem, but this can be addressed with sufficient legalese - street parking is dangerous for your vehicle (demerit) Review has been revised up to 4 stars, which is 1 off from what I felt before the episode described below. Upstairs noise was reduced to acceptable levels with a combination of: - negotiation with neighbor with management mediating - (regrettably) veiled, and eventually unveiled legal threats Previously (June 2023): I have been a resident of Mason on Mariposa for over a year. Take your hard-earned money and rent somewhere with more regard for tenants! The complex undeniably has merits: - it is well designed, both in common areas and inside units - the units themselves are finished very well and quality & attention to detail are clear However, staff are totally unhelpful (polite, backstabbing snakes who speak pretty words but do not act) when any exceptional situations come up. For example: - they are unwilling to pull security footage, even facing streets, when there is a legitimate need (such as automobile vandalism) - They are either unwilling or unable to compel changes to upstairs tenant behavior causing sustained, heavy upstairs noise constituting a potential breach of the Covenant of Quiet Enjoyment. They claim that this is a wooden building, but that does not automatically legitimate every disruptive noise."
"I have been living here for a few years. Still one of the best, if not the best, apartment in SF. Facilities are on point. Staff are always nice and welcoming. The only reason why it's not 5 stars is because of the dog owners who live in the apartment. They just let their dogs pee anywhere making the courtyards smell like dog pee. Even after repeated warnings from apartment management. I unfortunately live in front of a courtyard and it has been a chronic issue for years. To those looking to rent at Mason, this will be one of the best in the neighborhood but just be mindful of units facing courtyards."
"WHY MASON I began looking for a new place that was more COVID wfh friendly in the beginning of September. I was looking at Alta Potrero as well as some other listings in Design District. I ultimately landed on Mason for several reasons: 1. Over 7 common spaces including co-working spaces, conference rooms, lounges, patio spaces, and roof-top decks 2. Huge 2 story gym that never gets too crowded with Peloton & Soulcycle bikes. 3. I moved into a Townhouse that included a free parking space. 3Bedroom / 3Bath with a patio and two common spaces separated upstairs and downstairs which was much more conducive to WFH life. 4. The property is tucked into the foothills of Potrero a block away from Anchor Steam Brewery and Whole Foods away from some of the encampments that have developed in the Mission Bay/SOMA area 5. The management team hosts fun social distance events outside like Jazz & Wine hour and a Roof-top catered party. It makes this time feel a little more human and connected. LEASING/MOVE IN PROCESS I mostly toured the property with Kristina, she was incredibly flexible with letting us tour several times and showing us different options for our group. She was highly responsive and communicative. She helped us find the best place and deal for our group and moved as quickly as our group needed. When questions or issues arose they were quickly addressed. MANAGEMENT When we moved in there were a few things missing and management quickly addressed them that same day. They are extremely courteous and professional. Everyone gets a really cute welcome gift filled with local goodies. Overall we've felt really happy with our move and couldn't recommend this place more!"
"Very dangerous neighborhood. Car wheels stolen twice here. The first floor units are easy to break in given the higher crime rate for SF and the neighborhood. Be careful and stay safe!"
