"Living at 100 Van Ness has been great, thanks to friendly staff and top-notch amenities. But, there’s a big issue: a persistent smoke smell in my bathroom around 5 am every day, lasting for 4-5 months. It seems to be a ventilation problem or someone who knows the building is sneaking smokes. This seriously lowers the living standard here. I suggest management installs smoke detectors in units to solve this. I’m even thinking of sealing my bathroom vent as a quick fix. Hoping for a fast solution to keep up the high quality of living at 100 Van Ness."
"The building itself is alright, but the service is incredibly uneven. On the one hand, you have some awesome people (Bert at the front desk, Dino in maintenance) but then you have others who put on a master class in rudeness. Case in point, I went to retrieve a package and when I was asked to come back later, I said I could not because I had already spent a ton of time waiting on the elevator (3 of the 4 were down, but that's a different story) and could not do so yet again. This led to someone who identified herself as being the "director" (a fact she thought it was *very* important for me to know) getting quite rude with me when I was just trying to explain to her that package notifications had gone out this morning (something I thought she might want to know, given her certainty that no such thing had happened). She reluctantly offered to fetch my package and told me I needed to improve my attitude and called me "sweetheart" in a very condescending way. In short, the building itself is alright but know that the service does not live up to the price point, unless rude and condescending service from people who are steadfast in their refusal to listen to customers is your thing."
"I gotta give a shoutout to Dino, the awesome engineer at 100 Van Ness who came to fix our washing machine. This guy knows his stuff! Not only did he get the job done efficiently, but he was also always polite and super easy to work with. Right from the start, Dino had a positive attitude that made the whole experience a breeze. It was clear he had mad skills and knew exactly what he was doing. But what really stood out was Dino's friendly nature. It's not every day you come across someone so knowledgeable and chill at the same time. So, if you need an engineer who gets the job done right and makes the whole process enjoyable, Dino's your guy. Big thumbs up and thanks to Dino for the stellar work!"
"Wanted to take a moment to recognize the efforts of the management team. Having lived in 100 Van Ness for 3 years, Dino & team from engineering have always been on their toes helping with repairs and dealing with day to day problems. Mostly punctual and makes sure we are always satisfied with the service. Shout out to Justin and team as well for the smooth functioning of the building. We have absolutely love being here!"
"I would not recommend living here. I’ve lived here for 2 years and aside from awesome views from my apartment, this is not a luxury building at all (despite luxury prices). Elevators are constantly breaking, packages go missing regularly, there isn’t 24 hour security or front desk coverage, and the common areas aren’t maintained (we’ve found condoms in the hot tub for example). The leasing office is generally unresponsive and out of touch with residents. Building management is super kind and respectful until you sign your lease, and then changes to ignoring requests. For example, when we moved in our washer and dryer didn’t work and needed to be replaced. For 2.5 months we were told the new washer was being shipped, but the day after I sent an email saying I refuse to pay rent until I have functioning appliances, the new set magically arrived. We’ve also had strangers walk into our apartment on a few occasions. Note that the pool only gets direct sun for about 1 hour per day. Giving two stars because the location was personally convenient for me (but isn’t really “safe” at night), and the views are nice if your apartment is west facing. Edit: ignore the generic response from the building. I’ve had multiple (documented) discussions with them about these issues."
