"DO NOT live at The Luxe under any circumstances! I dealt with Greystar and this horrible property for 15 months and it was a headache from the day I moved in to after I moved out. I needed to move to Sacramento quickly for a job, and went with the Luxe because they claimed to have a renovated townhome available in my price range that met my needs. And while the photos on the website looked decent enough, they claimed they couldn’t FaceTime me to walk me through the unit I would be getting, so I had to sign without seeing it myself. When I moved in, not only was the apartment not ready to be leased, but there were basic repairs and cleaning that hadn’t been done. There was trash on the back patio, a dirty backsplash above the oven, chipped paint on the railing, a crack in the tub, and smoke damage on the bedroom doors, among other fixes. The problems with the unit, The Luxe, and Greystar only grew from there. During the time I lived at The Luxe, I had numerous issues including, but not limited to: poorly installed doors that had to be repaired and replaced multiple times because they repeatedly installed them wrong, a leak in my living room ceiling due to a poorly installed toilet on the top floor, a shower that shrunk in size after they covered the crack with the wrong size replacement, brown water coming out of my tub faucet after that repair (that their staff actually tried to convince me was normal!), a constantly overgrown patio and outdoor area due to poor weed treatment which rendered the space unusable, repeated bug issues, excessive dog poop from folks not picking up after their dogs, stray cats, and car break-ins. The stray cats were so bad at a point that my partner had to get a neighbor and Animal Control to help coax a cat out from underneath her car and another kitten was later found deceased. Management was a revolving door, so even trying to get the initial repairs done that I had told them about on move-in day took months to complete correctly, and often had to be repeatedly fixed. Living at The Luxe was a complete nightmare from start to finish, and I would never rent from a Greystar-managed property again. Even after move out, they use silly excuses like having to “scrub” the $2 drip pan on the stove to automatically charge a “heavy cleaning fee”, charging for a full carpet replacement because there are “dents” in the carpet from furniture (that would be easily removed with a carpet cleaner), and adding unexplained charges to try to scam you out of as much money as possible. The maintenance team was nice and tried to do what they could given the low resources they had, but the price of the “renovated” unit is ABSOLUTELY not worth what you get or the headache that comes with it. There are better properties and property management companies to rent with in the Sacramento area. I really hope this review helps someone not make the same mistake I did, especially if you’re unable to visit the property in person."
"Worst apartments I've ever lived in, moved out in 2022 and easily the worst move out experience and apt management I've ever dealt with so bad I decided to write this review to warm people DON'T MOVE HERE. We were displaced from our apartment because of plumbing issues before we moved out, they said it would take a week, it took a month and a half. Then in the time we were waiting for our unit to be repaired there was a break in to the apartment they put us in. On top of getting upset with us for filing a police report they expected us to go thru their insurance which didn't cover our items stolen. Once our unit was ready we had already decided to move out. We had a week to leave with appliances still in the way and were expected to now clean two units. On top of that they charged us for a credit they agreed upon giving us, accused us of stealing belongings in the model unit we were in after we got robbed and charged us thousands because the units were "disgusting," Shoutout Daniel. Very unprofessional terrible customer service and unqualified untrustworthy management. Again, avoid this place at all costs"
"The apartment is good but some of the things are not so good. One of the agent in the leasing office is always rude. They never take any action for stolen cars or bicycles. Be careful before moving here."
"NEVER EVER MOVE IN HERE!! The place is horrible, cockroaches EVERYWHERE, there’s one part of the apartment that gets majorly flooded all the time supposedly they fixed it. They didn’t. Walls are SOOOO thin that you can hear your neighbors wives getting beat & kids (call the police and police does nothing) neighbors at the bottom smoke so much your house will smell like the smoke. It’s a disgusting place, it is a safe space to live in but nasty. The woman at the front is SUPER RACIST TO BLACK PEOPLE maybe other people or color too. But so many times during our tour and other times just chillin she will go and say something to a Black person, and start questioning them. She told us at move in we had to make 10x the rent or we can’t move in and than I went it later on and heard someone else in the office say 3x rent?! When you see her you’ll know who it is. At last if you want your final statement to be the most expensive thing in your life move in, if not don’t, almost 2,500 dollar!!! There was NOO NEED for most of the things listed. If you want cheap rent and you’re okay with dealing with all that go for it but if not I suggest you spend those extra bucks at a nice apartment. They failed the low income community and it’s showing. Maintenance people lag on everything too by the way, and even if you mention it or not they will come into your apartment without knocking or calling ahead of appointment (this happened to my neighbor). Great guys but.. they need to up the apartments more"
"My place has roaches even inside the refrigerator. They took 3 weeks to send an exterminator citing that was the only available exterminator they could use. Oh, and the regional manager supposedly does not have a telephone number. I'm moving out. What a waste. Not worth 1900 at all. Do not move here if you value luxury and quality. Customer service isn't great after move in either. Do not recommend."
