"Dogs bark at all hours of the night. The management staff is near impossible to get a hold of and even less likely to do something about issues such as incessantly barking dogs. Buy a pair of ear plugs when you sign your lease."
"I’ve been at Governors Terrace aka 1401 P Street just over 3 years now. I’ve also lived across the street at Fremont Mews aka 1400 P and it’s a lot more quiet over here. Instead of a bunch of Generation X’ers and party animals, we are the mature consummate professionals. The staff are the greatest, our maintenance guy is this cute little Elmer Fudd looking old guy riding around on a motorized wheelchair. Unlike other apartments where they constantly turn over staff, my manager Julia and her husband have been here for years and take really good care of the building. Before there was even Covid-19 our building was always shiny. You’ll see when you walk in. This is a nice place. It’s not uncommon to see Julia’s husband Sylvio out early on Thursday mornings putting out client trash bins that forgot the night before. They’re probably the reason I haven’t moved yet. Can’t wait to meet you new neighbor! Pros: pet friendly any size dog, safe neighborhood, great neighbors. Cons: can’t think of any"

"I did not rent an apartment here but I contacted the leasing office and scheduled an appointment to view the apartments and talk about rates and amenities. When I arrived for my appointment no one was in the leasing office. I called and got a voicemail so I left a message asking for someone to return my call and I would come back to view the apartment, I did not receive a phone call. I even went to the maintenance office to see if I could find someone who could help, no luck."
"My husband and I moved into Governors Terrace two months ago and have been greeted with professionalism, courtesy and helpfulness by the amazing property manager, Dave. We are here part time and come from a rural area so were not sure what to expect from apartment life. Serendipity brought us here and we couldn't be happier with the apartment and location. The building is always clean, quiet and safe. It is walking distance from Capitol Park and the R Street Corridor, a fun area with lovely art, great food and music. Dave is always helpful, funny and upbeat. We are very happy and fortunate to be here!"
