"There is a history walk, guided some days, self guided on others. The drydocks and cranes are amazing, as are the senior officer's mansions. Restaurants are available. A drive around the island gives great views of the Bay Area.This is a great place to visit."
"Very cool spot on Mare Island at the waters edge. Great beer selection... Personable & attentive staff. Limited food fare; mostly burgers & sandwiches. Really loved the french dip. Hiwever do recommend the potato salad. Unique location, deserves a visit!"

"Our first time here it was not noisy and crowded. It's a small place at the back of the naval shipyard. They have several choices of local micro beers. I had the bright cider and I find it light and good. My husband had the Mariano Guadalupe Vallejo Mexican lager. I ordered the vegan black bean chili and it was good. I had to pick it up at the food truck outside. It came in quickly less than 10 minutes. The service was quick and friendly. It's good to bring in the family as the space is large enough to accommodate groups of family or friends. Overall, this was a good place to hangout and enjoy some drinks & food."
"Great place to visit. I will have to visit the museum next time I head this way. Wonderful cocktails at Savage & Cooke (didn't eat, wasn't hungry) then had a great porter at Mare Island Brewery. Will definitely return to try the food and drink more beer."
