"If you want to live in a overpriced unit with laundry machines that never work and charge you 5 bucks to complete one load than look no further! Maintenance never comes when you need them. They usually will have to "Check with their Supervisor before". Management is a joke and is never able to be reached unless you are trying to pay them then they magically are able to make appointments or answered your call. I lived here for 2 yrs and my rent was increased by 500 bucks with no improvements made at all to th building. Upon moving out they couldn't even make the appointment to inspect our unit for any damage and they still had the nerve to take money from us for random damages we were not present to address. Oh the water is off like every other week."
"(06/27) Just moved in 3 days ago and already regret it! Found 3 spiders (got bit by one close to the eye), killed one and caught another the size of my thumb! Also found multiple silverfish on the ceiling or inside the drawers... I have pictures of them. Carpet was dirty and they left 3 spider webs on the balcony. The noise level is just insane! The constant traffic makes the paper thin walls shake when trucks drive on Encinitas Boulevard. Had to buy earplugs but I can still hear the cars at any time of the day. Was considering moving my bed into the living room but the pool drain or whatever it is, produces a loud gurgling sound every minute for 5 seconds. The shower head has to be the lowest one I have ever seen in my life. Once I stand in the tub, the shower head is leveled with my throat and I'm only 5'9! The only good thing about this apartment might be the layout and the brighness. The price is excessive for what it offers though. I can't imagine having a downstairs unit. The noise level must be even worse. (update 09/07) I keep getting more spiders in the apartment and will never get used to the noise. Here I am writing another review at 2.30am because people are having a mini party at the pool drinking and shouting. They've been there since 10pm and don't seem to hear us tell them to keep it down. Nobody follows the after hour pool rules and it's getting annoying as it keeps happening... Having to close all the windows to be able to sleep in this hot summer is ridiculous. This place is such a joke and I hope people will read this before considering moving in!"
"We have been here for 10 months. In that time the water has been out for 6+ hours at least 20 times. There is something very wrong with the water here, the taste is awful and you will need to purchase bottled water. The temperature also fluctuates from scalding to frigid and makes showering very difficult. Additional issues: -Circulation in the pool was interrupted and allowed to stand stagnant for 2 months. The jacuzzi water turned green was cordoned off with caution tape during this time. 2 months to address. -Quality of the apartment. I have lived in cheap apartments my entire life and this one has some of the worst construction I've ever seen. Expect to constantly hear your neighbors whether upstairs or downstairs. -If you live near the pool, expect to hear 10+ screaming kids every day spring-fall. Most are decent about quieting down at 10pm, but often you will hear the shouts of kids playing at the pool until midnight -lowest income housing in Encinitas, this brings with it all the typical BS like police calls, loud neighbors, obvious drug deals. If you have a nice car expect it to get broken into (happened to me, drive a late model Ford sedan) Anna, the property manager, is very unresponsive and rude. Has the gall to turn instant agro when I call in to ask why the water has been off for 4 hours again. Do not move here, yes it is cheap but it sucks."
"We moved in 6/15/15. Anna Haimain, the property manager, sold on how nice and quiet and cozy this apartment complex was. Well, all properties have their issues but Elan Seacrest is by far the worst apartment I have ever lived in. Let me tell you why and save you the massive headache living here has been. First, the good: -Very nice location -Reasonable rent for the location (thought $1700 for a 1 bedroom does seem a bit steep) The very bad: -Downstairs neighbor is a loud abusive drunk and despite multiple complaints Anna has done nothing to address the issue. This clown plays loud rock music until 1AM but when HE is finally done and ready to go to bed will start pounding the ceiling if you so much as get up to use the restroom. -Building on this, the walls are paper thin. I can hear when all of my neighbors fight, shower, have sex, you name it. -Shower temp/water has been a constant issue. The shower will indeterminately heat up to scalding, gain and lose pressure, go freezing, completely unpredictable. Total crap. I have had maintenance look at it 3 times, he has stated the entire assembly needs to be replaced but Anna will not fix it. Showers now take 5-20 minutes depending on how fickle the water temperature is being that day. The minor stuff: -Build quality is amongst the lowest. Since we moved in 6/15/15, I have had to replace every single light bulb, had the shower towel rod break off, had the toilet paper roll rod break off, the unit came with chipped tile next to the fireplace. -The fireplace. The genius that designed this complex included a fireplace in every unit BUT NO STORAGE. That is right, no broom closet, no coat rack, no nothing. The only storage besides the kitchen is the bedroom closet. -If you are near the pool, all summer kids used the pool and were very loud. Mostly they respected the 10PM curfew but this complex is 90% families, and there are a LOT of kids in the pool when the weather allows. We are in the process of moving out. Anna is a terrible property manager, the parent company Property West Management is completely inaccessible, I have to date not received a return cal despite numerous calls to Marissa, Anna's supervisor at PWR. Don't make the mistake and look only at the cheap rent. You will hate living here."
"I recently moved out early on a lease because I couldn't stand living here. It was constantly noisy, kids ran screaming past our balcony ALL DAY LONG, and were left unattended all day in the pool, throwing random things into it, we hardly were able to use it. Our neighbors were completely inconsiderate, they'd start blaring music at 7am every morning so loud, it'd wake me up, even after i went over to their door to tell them to turn it down. Our upstairs neighbors were noisy and had cats with flees that got into our house, and our manager did NOTHING about it even though the news of the cats was new to her. The manager is what really blew me away, she was so flakey I have no idea how she is in charge of running a place. After we moved in I saw her 2 times. She never returns phone calls, I've left messages that have gone unanswered, and I've been waiting for my deposit back for OVER A MONTH and she will no answer or return my calls. I hated living here, it almost ruined my entire experience of living in Encinitas. If you want to live in a SMALLLLLL apartment (we had a 2 bed even!) with lousy management, loud neighbors and horrible parking, this might be the place for you."
