"The maintenance man is a really nice person. He explains everything to you about the situation in your apartment. And he’s honest about how long it’s will take for the repairs to be done… It’s never bad encounter with him It’s always pleasant…"
"Don’t recommend. First of all, there is no central AC. When it’s hot, you can’t enjoy your Whole apartment comfortably. You will be sweating in your room if you rely only on the AC in the living room. Another big issue, is that many tenants have had or have roach issues. We did for a summer and it was traumatizing. So, if you consider Dwell, it’s a raffle if your unit will have roaches or not. At night we have seen roaches roaming around the grounds often too. Also, these apartments used to be affordable, but now they are priced the same as other apartments that Have central AC, therefore now overpriced. Next, the units are all connected together, so pests travel easily between units and as well as chemical odors, like construction after a tenant left, which happened often. Last, management did help us with some work orders just fine, but our most troubling concern was poorly addressed. We lived in a unit right above the laundry room, and the dryer vented into our apartment through gaps in the wall behind the stove and heating unit, for Every Single Time Someone Dried Their Clothes for ONE Hour Each Load. We were living in air pollution, basically daily. The issue was never fixed and the only real options management gave us were move to another unit at Dwell and our rent would go up to that of new tenants(an increase of about $400/month) or move if we were unhappy with the unit we were dealt with. It made us feel that they care more about money than people… We left and now have central AC and fresh air! Thank God, seriously! Anyway, instead of leaving a purely bitter review, I will list the pros to shake off the negativity. Close to UCR, safe neighborhood, grocery store and liquor store next door, Jesus(maintenance worker) did listen and did his best with what he was allowed to do, and view of mountains. I recommend you find a better place, but whatever you do, do not sign the lease for the apartment above the laundry room! Best wishes finding the right place ✌️"
"These apartments are terrible. The only good thing about these apartments are they are walking distance from UCR. Although, the reasons I believe these apartments are not worth "market" prices are listed below: - No central AC. They have one window AC unit which only cools the living room. So, during the summer season, you're going to be burning up in the bedroom. Unless you spend hundreds of dollars on a portable AC that is still not comparable to a window unit. - There are 4 buildings with duplicate apartment numbers. Meaning, there are 4 apartment 1's, 2's, 3's, etc. This means deliveries are guaranteed to be delivered to the wrong apartment at least once. If you order food through delivery services, you're going to have a bad time giving instructions and possibly visiting the other three apartments that share your number. - Lets say you live in apartment 15, which means there are three other apartment 15's. If someone at one of the other apartment 15's gets the cops called on them, you're going to likely get a visit from the police, because they can't easily tell the difference. So, get prepared to possibly get visits from police at random times. It's happened to me twice, because there was domestic abuse happening at my same apartment number, in another building. One time I was woken up by banging on my door around 5am, which was jarring. - The website is absolutely trash and hard to pay. Their website has changed 3-4 times in my 4 years living there. The first website I visited was easy to use. I have no idea why they changed it, but the last website this apartment changed to is the worst iteration. When trying to pay the rent, the rent gets labeled as "extra-payment". I've been confused by this ever since the website got updated, and you could tell the apartment management was cutting corners making their website. - There is a high likelihood you're going to get a unit without a window or patio to the outside world. If you're lucky enough to get a patio, you're going to be viewing the street for the most part. - The parking can get terrible out of nowhere. Because of the narrow back street, you might get stuck behind a garbage truck for quite a few minutes. I've seen situations where garbage trucks were not able to get through, because a large truck was parked in the wrong spot. This caused a large line to build up behind the garbage truck. So, now you have to wait for the garbage truck to get out before you can leave the apartments. - You're basically living in a hotel-like apartment complex. It's ugly, unless you're into the early 70's hotel vibe. - You may get roaches out of nowhere. There was a moment when roaches infested my apartment, because management forgot to pay for pest control. That is what they told me. In conclusion, you're going be paying "market" prices for an incredibly frustrating apartment. You're going to be hot in the summer, have deliveries to the wrong apartment and many other issues for the "low" price of $2,000 as of writing this. Four years ago I was paying $1,325, and now the rent has increased around $700. Management will talk to you as an opportunity for their bosses, with no empathy."
"My boyfriend and I have been living here for about 4 months and we absolutely love it here. The office staff is amazing!! We feel so comfortable living here knowing that the staff here is so helpful and kind. Each building has its own pool and laundry room incredibly close to you which was a plus for us. If you’re looking for a good sense of community you’ll find it here. This is the easiest i’ve ever been able to call somewhere home."
"Sarah you’re amazing!!! Maintenance requests are handle with urgency. I had a small water leak, eventually it got bigger. I put in a request, a plumber was called and arrived a within a few hours. The water pipe was temporarily patched same day. The following day it was taken care of. I’m a new tenant, moved here from Canyon Crest. Most of the time large apartment complex’s have awful customer service, not here at Dwell. I love living here! It’s quiet, everyone is friendly, parking is not an issue, plenty of street parking for visitors and this place puts on monthly events for their tenants."
