"Nice complex. Agree with the previous review-- maintenance man Alberto is awesome! Sweetest guy! He so polite and professional! I'm sure he doesn't get paid enough. 5 stars for him!!! It's a little hard to get in touch with the leasing office. Most newcomers have a hard time finding it (it's at amber crest). We lived closer to amber crest and they were pretty noisy. Neighbors were fairly quiet. We left because someone stole from our garage and broke into our car (car was parked on the street). It just didn't seem like a safe area anymore. It was safe when we first moved in but got bad quickly."

"The good: The best feature of this apartment complex is by far the maintenance worker. He was always professional and friendly. Despite serving both Towne Crest and Amber Crest apartments, he always handled my maintenance requests in a timely manner. The owner of these complexes, Edward A. Mickus, is lucky to have him. My interactions with the property manager Sarah were minimal, but I found no issues with her. In fact, even after moving out of the complex, Sarah took the time to discuss in detail my security deposit concerns. The bad: It was only after receiving the itemized deductions of my security deposit did I learn of the contractual practices of the owner. Hence, why I decided to write this review for current and future residents. Learn from my mistake and, perhaps, the owner will one day learn to value customer satisfaction. The rent “special” offered by the owner is not for 365 days (12 months actual) from the date your contract starts. The contract specifically has written “12 months only” and enforced by Mr. Mickus (through his staff) in a crafty way. For example, let us say you start your lease on January 15, 2017 and it ends on January 15, 2018. Well, the owner will count January as the first month of the rent special despite having only lived at the unit for half a month. As a result, your “12 month only” rent special ends on December 31, 2017. You will be paying full rent price for the remaining 15 days (Jan 1 to 15) of your contract. I have lived at several apartment complexes throughout the Inland Empire, and I have never seen this done before. I suppose this is how some Orange County real estate investors work. Yes, the rent is cheaper compared to other locations in the Canyon Crest area but it is not worth it. Parking is always an issue and the owner charges extra for a parking spot. On a regular basis, I found myself parking down the street from the complex. Security is non-existent, as both gates to the complex remain open at all times. Both Towne Crest and Amber Crest are simply just old and in major need of remodeling. Do yourself a favor and pay a little more to find better housing."
