"I've lived here for a year and counting - we just renewed our lease. I have to say that as a life-long apartment dweller, The Cape is really the best complex I've ever lived in. The grounds are clean and well-taken care of, it feels very safe, and most of my neighbors have lived here for almost a decade. Maintenance comes almost immediately after you submit a request, and the management is friendly and helpful. I haven't had any issues with noise or bugs, which is rare for an apartment. Location is insanely convenient. We love taking walks around the attached park or in the residential area right behind the complex, or to Metro Pointe. My ONLY complaint is the lack of washer/dryer in unit. Would highly recommend!"
"We lived there for 3 years. Horrible experience. Worst management ever. Take forever to do anything. We were so glad to have found a new place and moved out. When we moved out, they said to leave the leased fridge in the unit and they’ll have someone pick it up and return to the appliance company. Instead, they simply got rid of the fridge after we moved out, and now we are liable for paying for a new fridge! The management lied to us that it’s okay to leave the fridge in there. Dishonest and unreliable management. AVOID!"
"If i could give negative stars I would gladly do so. I lived at the Cape for roughly 8 years and paid rent early or on time consistently. I lived here mostly for the less expensive rent that Costa Mesa had to offer. Of course with that comes with cons. 1. STAFF a. Leasing staff has poor communication with the maintenance. The maintenance staff are great, friendly, and respectful. Unfortunately you will not receive that with the leasing staff (likely due to the high turn over rate). Maintenance showed up for a repair when it wasn’t scheduled until that weekend. Maintenance said the leasing staff didn’t specify. Also it took a couple request for repairs on the toilet till it actually happened. b. During the first lease my car was not registered in the apartments because of the error made by the leasing manager at the time. My car was parked in the “guest lot” and they were doing work to the parking lot. My car got towed and they did try to to contact me. All because my car wasn’t registered. Ended up paying $300 all because POOR communication and lack of professionalism. 2. MAINTENANCE a. They shut off your water without informing residents. I was told that it was due to an emergency repair. Well this happened more than a couple times, you would think by then it would be REPAIRED. Also when you turn the water back on it’s brown - very hygienic isn’t it? They also have gardeners doing work every SINGLE day. 3. AMENITIES a. The laundry rooms were useful when they machines actually worked. Most of the time they were out of order - real convenient for residents. “Love where you live” they say. 4. LOYALTY - despite the fact that I lived here for 8 years that did not mean anything to this money hungry business. Husband and I went to talk to the leasing staff to see if there was a way to get out of our lease 1.5 months in advance. The best they could do “put your unit on craigslist”. Which is a terrible suggestion why would we want to put anyone else through this."
"I’ve lived here for five years going on six. In that time, I’ve seen a lot of turnover in the leasing office and been through many different property managers. One constant has been Andrew, the maintenance manager, and his associate, Juan. They keep this place running. Anytime I have a request or need help, they go above and beyond. I’ve seen them do the same with others as well. They always make me feel like a priority, even though I know they take care of hundreds of apartments on site. Five stars for the maintenance team."
"I have lived at The Cape for 3 years now, and just renewed for a 4th year! I did not anticipating living here for as long as I have, but there are so many reasons that have kept me here! One of which is the incredible team, both in the leasing office, and for our maintenance requests! Scott the Property Manager is always so professional and quick to find solutions to any problems that may arise, and Andrew the man in charge of maintenance is always on top of my work orders, no matter how small they may seem. Feeling thankful to call this place home! ~ Claire :)"
