Milano Lofts Apartments

"I’ve been house sitting for the last two weeks and it’s been such a privilege being in this apartment. I never experienced such tall windows and the natural light is just next level. As an artist, it just motivates me in the mornings to paint. I feel inspired. I also want to give a shout out to Mike from maintenance. I had a clogged toilet with a messy spillover and when I called to report it, Mike came quickly and fixed everything in less than 15 minutes. I never got this kind of service from my landlord and am wholly jealous of this kind of attention."

"Fell in love with this building because it has so much historical charm while still being immaculate. Last apartment I lived in was incredibly noisy but I never hear my neighbors here. The rent is reasonable by LA standards and I am close to all my favorite haunts. No complaints."

"This is one of the smaller buildings in LA and the neighborhood is a little sketchy (however you can make that argument for almost everywhere in downtown) but I really love my apartment. The fact that there's fewer units means that I never have trouble getting the elevator and I don't have to make nice with neighbors. I like the historic feel and big windows plus the rooftop bbq for when I entertain (which is almost never but I like having the option. Mainly I come out there when the weather is good and read for an hour or so. It's great in the summer."

"The apartments look lovely from the pictures but that’s as far as I’ve gotten because, as it seems, this place is terribly disorganized. I had an appointment yesterday to tour a specific apartment at 5:30pm. I arrived to Milano for the tour at around 5:28 only to find a sign that said “if you are interested in touring please go to this other building 2 blocks away.” I called Milano to ensure we were supposed to go before walking 2 blocks in the 90 degree heat since it didn’t mention that on the confirmation email, they said yes, so I walked over there as quickly as I could. When I arrived at Pegasus I was told very rudely by Ashley the leasing lady that the Milano office closed at 5:30… the time of my appointment… and basically insinuated that it’s my fault that I missed the 5 minute grace period, not the fault of their disorganization by not letting me know I had to go to a different building beforehand and scheduling an appointment right at closing time. I rescheduled my appointment for the next day (today) at 4:30 to avoid the same problem and parked and arrived on time to the other building. Not only was it impossible to get in the door because the vents on the sidewalk are so loud they can’t hear what you’re here for, but I was then told (much nicer than yesterday by the male leasing agent) that the floor plan I had specifically requested wasn’t actually available to tour for another week or so even though it says it’s available online. Again, they’re at fault because nobody contacted me to let me know that the floor plan I had specifically requested to see in the notes of my appointment was unavailable. So that’s now 2 days that I’ve taken time from my day, wasted gas, and paid to park because they can’t communicate or coordinate properly. This whole experience has discouraged me from even considering moving here or even trying to tour again. If they’re this rude and it’s this disorganized from the beginning before I even live there, I can’t imagine how it must be to rely on these people for anything in my home."

"When I left, there had been a leak, they replaced my washer intentionally with a machine that didn’t work (I have it on video) and they kept most of my deposit illegally for state of CA. This place was scrubbed down to the corners and they still took more than half my deposit. If you google Equity there are all types of pending litigation and claims. I’m sure a class action is brewing. After the original maintenance guy left this place went downhill. Call the city inspector if they don’t fix things correctly."
