"I lived in this building 10 years ago when it was under different management, so my review is more for the "bones" of the place than any experience with the current service. It was grungy. The first day I moved in I stepped in dog poo on the grass in front while unloading the truck and tracked it onto the carpet. There were pigeons roosting on the balcony and it took a while to get them to permanently leave, and even longer for the management to clean up the biohazard that was encrusted on the balcony wall. For a while, everything was fairly smooth sailing -- but the biggest problem was when one night, the plumbing in the room above burst. Woke up to water pouring from the ceiling in the middle of the night. Not much was done to clean it up, if I recall. So with absolute certainty there is mold growing within the ceiling and between the floors of my unit and the unit above mine. I would be shocked if it's been cleaned in the intervening time unless the building were completely renovated."

"Refuses to answer phone calls, emails, text messages and maintenance requests. Their entire team does not monitor any communications at all. Have had my renters rights violated continuously. Have been charged extra each month due to our lease being breached over one check mark missed (not even a signature or any major consent). They finally credited me after 9 months and close to eviction. They even went as far as to give me a deal to pay 75% of my bill to reach a resolution and make my account current then went back on their word and did not clear the other 25% of my total amount and just left it on my account. I have full details and messages of the deal. I've also been trying to move to another unit or apartment building due to horrible management and unsafe living conditions. They refuse to answer any of my messages even though they responded with a general follow up and ignored 75% of my requests they stopped texting back. My Best guess is to just leave without notice and they might never find out that we moved out. PLEASE DONT MOVE IN HERE!!!!"

"PLEASE READ BEFORE CONSIDERING APARTMENT: i HiGHLY advise to choose a DIFFERENT apartment, the price may seem enticing, but it is NOT worth it. When we first looked at the apartment, we were shown a re-modeled apartment and was told that our new apartment would look very similarly with remodeled appliances and that we couldn't take a look at our prospective apartment as it wasnt ready. NO, we did not get a remodeled apartment and was disappointed when we moved in. They also told us our apartment would be ready to move in by a certain date so we had everything ready for move-in. NO, we were left dry and hanging, as there was a lack of communication from staff and the apartment was not ready by our move-in date, and the staff was "off" that day and that we could contact them the next day to figure out our new move-in date. It took forever to get our contract re-fixed as they still wanted us to pay for a move-in date that we weren't able to move in by. It is almost impossible to reach the staff, good luck if you get through, they are unresponsive and take forever to hear back from. The ONLY great thing about the apartment is the MAINTENANCE crew, the cleaning lady is always cleaning and maintenance is prompt to any fixtures. I felt bad for the cleaning lady bc she works really hard to maintain the place, but some unruly tenants are just careless letting their dogs pee in the elevators or people not taking care of their trash. Your apartment will be infested by roaches, GROSS. They installed smart locks on every apartment, and we received notification that our apartment was unlocked by staff without any prior notification or reason for why they were entering our apartment, and when we called and complained (which took forever to reach someone), there was no reasonable explanation provided. The utilities in the apartment "look nice" but they are cheap quality. When you use the oven or cook on the stovetop, your fire alarm will go off and sometimes it will even state carbon monoxide poisoning. We have nothing against weed, but towards the end of our lease, some weed smokers moved in, and on a daily basis, there was constant weed coming through our vents especially when we turned on the AC, made us feel slightly uncomfortable with our little toddlers in our home, one of whom is asthmatic. Pretty sure the apartment has not cleaned their vents in a long time btw. We were lucky (sarcasm) to live under a couple who fought almost every other day, the walls are paper thin, heard every fight and conversation of the woman throwing things during the fight and yelling like crazy. If you move in, you'll end up seeing that the apartment may look nice on the outside, but in reality, the apartment itself was made with low-quality appliances. No microwave provided. Our toilet kept flushing by itself even after maintenance fixed it. They recently did a parking audit, and parking was a mess as there was a severe lack of communication from the staff to the tenants, new tenants were given occupied spaces, old tenants were not notified properly of their new spaces, so much confusion. We're really glad to have moved to a completely different apartment under better management. Lastly, we have never, in the past 15 years we have been renting, ever been told to pay TWO $450 charges for "reglazing" of the bathroom and the kitchen, we always received part of our security deposit back with only the usual charges of cleaning, painting, maintenance, etc. How ridiculous.. TRUST ME WHEN I SAY, go find somewhere else to live. When we first moved in, we asked one of the tenants what they thought about the apt, and he said that he should've never moved in here. We didn't understand, but we most certainly do now. Hope you'll take this into consideration and look elsewhere."

"This is the most terrible communication experience. I moved to this community 2 months ago and only now they have solved my parking problem. I paid for this for two months, but didn’t have my own parking space. They have just a terrible mess going on in their documents. Every time I tried to contact the office, it was simply impossible. no one ever answers calls or messages or emails. Nobody ever sits in an office. Now I have a new problem due to their fault, they charged money from me twice and again no one answers me!!! I'm already tired of this. It's constantly exhausting."

"Past Resident. When I tell you this ONE of the worse management ever! They will steal you money and hide behind voice-mails. I was double and triple charged for fee that were already paid. I moved out before August 25 the end of my lease. My forwarding address was provided but yes, past Resident support team mails the statement and check to the address I moved from at Catalina gardens. There's no one to speak to regarding there errors what so ever. My only other option is file a complaint with BBB and seek legal action to have my security deposit refunded correctly. I've left multiple voice-mail messages and emails. If also reached out to other exxes locations and they say they can't help but will email and or FaceTime Catalina gardens to let them know I'm trying to reach them. No response yet!"
