"I lived here for a couple years. There were a-lot of pros but tons of cons. Here is my take…. Cons If you’re looking for a bright apartment ….these aren’t it. They get very LITTLE to no natural light. The inner units (courtyard) are not only dark, but they are what feels like a jail cell/ caged in. The black inside of the building on the walls makes it feel even more dark. Not sure why they don’t just paint it white to brighten the building and make it more lively. They are also loud in the summer if you’re by the pool. The stairs are easy to get locked in and it makes no sense for an exit if you need a key to get in or out. They switched over to having a key fob but you have an additional fob for the parking garage so it defeats the point of not carrying a key. So many clothes get ruined by the washers or tons of hair from other people’s pets. Lastly, my unit got infested with mold and ruined a closet worth of stuff, shoes and valuables. If you’re allergic like me, I would look elsewhere. I got very sick from it and the minute I moved I could tell the difference. They increase the rent every year by 200$ a month. I started at 2,200 in 2021 and it increased to 2,850 by 2024. First floor, no light, no w/d and dark vibe. I wouldn’t say it is worth it. The security is basically a joke. They just walk around and do nothing. They put patrol signs up and disappear for hours. If there is an issue, they have no idea how to fix it. The free WiFi around the building never worked for me once or anyone that came over. You have to be connected to WiFi, if you’re in any of the courtyard units because there is no service. Showers are low so if you’re tall you’ll have to install a pipe that goes upward. Furthermore, one of the most irritating things was that I told the building a light in the night shined directly into my unit and kept me up. They could have found a solution to not do that but they don’t care. Despite the fact that the pool is supposed to be closed after 10 it was VERY important to have the stair light shine into the units. So having a dark apartment in the day and then a light shining in at night was brutal. The gym is terrible. It’s inside the garage with no windows. If you do move here, pick an apartment on the out side not courtyard if you want a better experience. For some reason the mail people don’t like using the parcel pending that you pay for monthly. Instead they throw everything in the mailroom and just pile it up. But over all the apartment had a very depressing and dark/dingy feel/ always had a funky smell which I’m thinking was mold the entire time. But the mold issue was really it for me. Plus for the same price - you can live somewhere brighter and nicer. The first floor units are way over priced. There was a long time that the laundry machines had issues but that seemed to be fixed. Apartments get crazyyyyyy dusty. If you don’t clean for a day you’ll have a layer of dust. Pros Apartments are spacious. Good closet space. Layouts are easy to furnish. You can fit a queen or kind bed in almost any of the units. Parking is secure. There are EV chargers. If EV charging wasn’t something I needed I would have moved long ago. Beatriz is very nice and the only property manager who will help/ is knowledgeable. She does a great job. It’s the other management who are the issue who seem to not care. Units are secure - no one ever tried to enter my unit if I didn’t lock the door. Maintence is very nice. Building is kept clean. It is convenient if you have a dog and you go across to the park. It is also very close to Ralph’s, Trader Joe’s and Starbucks. Free WiFi in the unit is a nice perk. Hot tub is nice and well maintained. Elevators rarely had issues. Appliances in unit also worked well. I rarely heard my neighbors which was also nice. Consider everything before living here."
"I have lived in this building for 5 years now and I've seen the good and the bad. Let's start with the good - Wonderful staff - specifically Beatriz, Bruce, Carlos, and all of the maintenance team - Package lockers for deliveries There are more things I would have put under good - but in an effort to cut their overhead, the ownership has recently gotten rid of 24/7 security and have been putting tenant's safety at risk. We had these security guards for years but one day we were given notice that effective immediately we would no longer have security and the building would be using an "AI system". Now the bad (starting with most recent issues) - They got rid of security and now we constantly have homeless people breaking into the building, destroying the lobby, and putting tenants at risk. I watched a homeless person walk through the front door at 8:30pm and take over the lobby. - Packages are now being stolen from tenants due to lack of security - Several loud weekday parties were being thrown due to lack of security... Ownership has now added overnight security from 9pm-5am after several people complained. - Ownership loves to put in cosmetic changes to the outside of the building to attract new tenants (several exterior paint jobs, window replacements, landscaping, pointless lobby remodel), while ignoring the issues tenants have been complaining about - laundry machines constantly broken, gym equipment broken, etc. - There is another safety risk that I won't post publicly due to a recent needless cosmetic replacement from Ownership. - We had constant power outages for 2+ years lasting over 24 hours at times. We would be the only building on our block with no power. We spent NYE 2020 with zero electricity. The problem has since been resolved, but ownership didn't care enough about their tenants to have the issue fixed with LADWP. - We spent the first two years living in a complete dusty construction zone with no access to the lobby, main elevators, gym, and pool. We were forced to walk through the garage gates to get in and out of the building for 2 years. A 30 story building was fully constructed next door to us in a quarter of the time it took ownership to give tenants a working main elevator or have hallway flooring put in. Completely unacceptable. I no longer feel safe living in this building. The lack of security along with the growing homeless population in the neighborhood puts the tenants at risk."
"I have been a resident here for almost 3 years, and have watched the building go downhill. Museum Terrace has made minimum updates such as painting the patios, switching the patio doors, and updating the signage. Museum Terrace has recently laid-off all of it's security, so now there's random ppl roaming the garage and package are now missing. It's no longer feels safe. On top of that if the Amazon delivery person comes before the office is open, you will pretty much miss your delivery if you're not home to let them in. The equipment in the gym is frequently out of service, the temperature is extremely too hot to even enjoy a workout and it also smells like a mildew moisture. Yet, rent has drastically increase."
"First and foremost, I have to praise the front office, the maintenance staff, Beatrice, Beth, Carlos, Bruce and all the others are great. We have been tenants at Museum Terrace for over 10 years and we have always felt safe in the building. Recently the upper management made the inexplicable decision to remove the 24 hour security. For starters, all of the security guys were part of the family. Juan and James and the others gave you the feeling of being safe The neighborhood has become rougher over the years and there are lots of suspicious and weird individuals when you walk the neighborhood, especially after dark. It is easy for anyone to enter the building, and without the human security guys we just do not feel safe here anymore. We walk our dog late at night and the front door is always busy. No guard that would tell anyone to lower the music on their phone or at least filter who looks trustworthy. No AI security system can replace that. Who tells me that with a food delivery guy someone else with bad intentions will not slip into the building. The same with the parking. All one has to do is wait for a car to enter or exit and slip in. By removing humans from guarding the building, the G&K management has robbed us from feeling secure in this building. I don’t think that either Jona Goldrich nor Sol Kest the founders of this company would have agreed with removing human security from the building. Unfortunately, due to this change we will most likely not renew our lease next year. When we decided to make Museum Terrace Our Home, there was 24 hours human security, now we don’t have that anymore it’s time to move on, this building IS NOT SAFE."
"Super nice and friendly living space. Staffs are very friendly. They do things very efficiently. They clean the bbq grills, pool areas, the laundry machines, all of the trash cans every single day. Super incredibly nice and clean. Super great window views facing west. Very quiet as well. They have a dog park and a park right cross street. Nice location."
