"If you're all about physical activity and short on time during your visit to Avalon and Catalina Island, this is hands down the best way to explore. At first, my husband and I were a bit skeptical about the tour, but let me tell you, it ended up being an absolute blast! Our tour guide, Yvonne, was a total sweetheart and a long-time island resident who knew everything there was to know about this place. A tour started at Avalon, where we hopped on car and got to the airport. It was such a great idea to drive up to the airport, because I don't think we would have made it cycling uphill on our own. By the way, the airport itself was so charming and cozy, and there was even a friendly cat hanging around the restaurant area. Then came the best part—we hopped on our bikes and cruised downhill from the airport back to Avalon, covering around 10 miles in about 2 hours (with plenty of photo stops, of course). The wildlife we spotted along the way was absolutely mind-blowing, and the views were amazing. Now, let's talk about those bikes. They were top-notch—great quality, super comfortable, and stable as can be. Riding them was an absolute pleasure. This tour makes for an incredible date idea! Cycling back to Avalon was an absolute pleasure. Sure, there were a few hills, but honestly, they made up only about 20-30% of the road. The rest is downhill and pretty easy. I struggled a bit with the uphill parts, but my husband breezed through them like a pro. I guess it really depends on your own level of physical activity. Yvonne was such a sweetheart—she was always there, ready to help if we ran into any trouble. I would definitely recommend it for people who want to have a pleasant gate away with physical activity, that is not too extreme, experience nature around and get beautiful pictures from the top of the mountain!"
"What an absolutely beautiful time. We missed this one on our first visit to Catalina Island so we made it a point to take this tour on or second visit. Yvonne was simply wonderful, she met us and got us oriented at the airport and we were off to travel the 10 mile ride down the mountain to the town of Avalon. The equipment was top notch and the scenery was unbelievable. Yvonne had us completely at ease and checked on us mid way down. Bike Catalina was first class and they have many different kinds of tours for all levels of skill and endurance. Can't wait to tour with them again. John"
"Bike Catalina was the best experience on the island! The drive up felt like a tour up and out of the main town and the airport we were brought to before our bike down was a nice cozy restaurant with a sweet gift shop. This was worth every penny! Me and my husband had such an enjoyable ride down the mountain and even stopped to eat some lunch at an amazing view point. 10/10 recommend!"
"What a great experience! Yvonne drove my husband and me up to the airport, giving us a synopsis of Catalina history and points of interest on the way. She waited around as we had a nice lunch at the airport. Then generously offered to come back and get us if the journey to town became too strenuous. She outfitted us with two Trek Marlin 7 bikes, with amazingly comfortable seats, that made this amateur feel like a pro pedaling to the top of the hills on our way back down to Avalon. The excursion into the wild lands of Catalina, the scenic bike ride into town, along with our delightful experience with Yvonne has been a highlight of our week. Highly recommend!"
