Glenmore Plaza Hotel

"I spent my anniversary here it was nice we got a king room and it was spacious and just what we needed the hotel itself is not too far from where you get off the boat about 8 minute walk or you can pay for a taxi because the hotel does not shuttle... there's tons of restaurants tons of things to do near the hotel"

"I don't know where to start describing this wonderful experience. It was 11.30 when we arrived in Avalon by ferry. Normal check-in time was 3 pm. But the wonderful Denish helped us a lot during the reservation. We had a great conversation with this lovely woman who is very approachable and friendly. She checked us in early and gave us the key to our room. We encountered a small problem when we got to our queen size room and went back down to Denish. I don't know how to praise her, but she immediately upgraded our room and gave us the suite where Charlie Chaplin stayed. And without charging any fee. My husband and I loved Denish very much. We didn't see her again afterward, but Sam helped us. He is also a very friendly and sweet person and helped us check out. We feel very lucky to stay in Charlie Chaplin's room and to stay in this clean beautiful room close to the ferry, the center, everything. I strongly recommend it. We were looking for the best hotel in terms of both price and performance, and we definitely found the hotel we wanted. We left the hotel and Avalon very happy. "I loved my stay here!! My friend and I went for an overnight trip and decided to get a room with two beds. When checking in, Denise saw it was my birthday on my ID and upgraded us to a balcony room. I was so touched! Every conversation we had with her was so thoughtful. The room was very spacious, and breakfast on the balcony was beautiful. The staff and Denise were extremely helpful when it came to offering extra toiletries, towels and water. They also have storage for your luggage if you arrive early or stay late. Overall, a wonderful stay!!"

"I didn’t get to stay here because bad weather made it impossible to get out to the island. The problem is that when we called for a refund, we were told by Jack to “call back later” while he figured out to do with his hotel full of guests that couldn’t leave. When we called back, a woman told us that “Jack doesn’t do well with emergencies.” Then, she told us it wasn’t her fault we couldn’t take the ferry, that everyone knew they wouldn’t be able to get to the island the day before (we did not know), and that we could have always taken a helicopter… she even threw in an “everybody knows that.” The thing is, helicopters weren’t flying either. While I can’t speak for the rooms, other reviewers can. The interactions I had with this place were below sub par."

"Denise and her staff are amazing! We had such a nice stay, room was clean and comfortable. Complimentary coffee and water at checking were great! Great location, walking distance from everything. Cannot recommend enough. Thank you and can’t wait to be back!"
