"The amenities are nice, but the rent was overly expensive for a single bedroom apartment and the community is in an area is not all that safe. The workers are great and were willing to help in any way possible with my move-in or move-out experience. Heard fireworks and some gunshots across the street. My apartment was also right by the road so the road noise was extremely loud if you ever had a window cracked (which you need to do during the summer sometimes since there is no A/C)."
"Moving in was a nice experience. Megan from the office and Aaron from maintenance were very kind and funny. I strongly feel we will enjoy Hancock as our new home."
"Overall, everything went smoothly, however I needed to remind staff a couple times to send the lease documents, the refrigerator door has 2 dents in it, the move-in date was set on an agency-wide training so staff was difficult to access, and the oven's gas connection was left off. Also, the requirement for renter's insurance was not made known until the lease docs were sent 2 days before move-in, creating extra stress. I'd recommend double-checking that move-in dates do not fall on training days or holidays, fixing and turning on appliances before the move-in date, ensuring renters know that renter's insurance is required as soon as they apply for the apartment, and improving organization/automatizing standard procedures such as emailing lease documents so it happens on time regardless of whether the representative is busy or not."
"Currently 2 months into my lease, I normally wait a bit, and get settled in and get comfortable before I write reviews and I will have to say this is probably one of the best apartments I have lived at. I went to school and apartment hopped (almost 4+ apartments) while during my undergraduate and none of the apartments have been this accommodating. I would 100% recommend living here. They always have cleaners almost every other day so it is pretty clean. The landscaping here is really well kept. The staff here are great, I've worked with Tyler, Angela, and Heather. They all have been really nice and extremely patient as I had a ton of questions for them!"
"We lived here for 2 years. I’m giving it 2 Stars because the apartments themselves are actually really nice but we had a few issues while living here. 1. Parking is awful, if you have more than 1 car i would not recommend moving here because one person will have to park in the street or hope for one of the empty spots in the front of the gates. Unfortunately over half of those spots were always occupied by the same cars that never moved. Management sent out guidance stating you couldn’t be parked in a spot for more than 3 days but it was obviously never enforced. Yet they tried to tow my husband’s car for being parked in front of the office and it hadn’t even been a whole hour after the cut off time. I understand that residents had to move their cars after a certain time but a little leeway could’ve been provided or at least a phone call could’ve been made to us first, especially since parking is so sparse in the area. 2. With reference to number 1, my husband’s car was broken into when it was parked INSIDE the gate! We told management about it but never heard anything back, i expected them to at least send out a warning to the other residents to make sure they locked their doors but nothing was done and a couple of weeks later more cars were broken in to. 3. It was not disclosed to us when we paid our security deposit that part of it would be used for carpet cleaning and general cleaning of the apartment. We were overcharged a tremendous amount for cleaning even though we left our place spotless. I tried to call to inquire about the charge and no one has returned my call. 4. I would also recommend getting your own washer/dryer as the washer and dryers weren’t always the cleanest."
