"We went to the hilltop pumpkin party. Fun family event but there could have been a bit more to do."
"Camp DayCroix is a pretty good camp for little kids and teens. There are lots of activities and everything is outdoors. If you go, make sure to pack a lot of snacks."
"Camp St Croix just held the most amazing birthday party for a group of 7 year old boys. Shelter building, fire making, a climbing wall and plenty of space for them to run around. The counselors really knew how to get them engaged and keep them safe. I could not recommend it more for events."
"This had to be my most favorite school field trip of all time. My class went there in November 2018, stayed there for three days and two nights. The food was great and I loved the games. My favorite game? Definitely Predator-Prey. It actually inspired me to write a story about the arctic fox I was pretending to be, especially since I survived after being chased by hunters twice! I would give this place a 10/10. Awesome, and would recommend to anyone interested!"
"As a mother that has been a child growing up doing camping as well as being a former camp counselor I know what is expected of the experience a child should go through. I had everything prepacked as to what my child needed. It was her first time being at an overnight camp. I had everything placed just right for her to experience a very nice week at their horse camp. My husband picked her up so I wasn’t sure what type of experience she had. However, when my husband got there, the staff told him to look at the bulletin board to see where she was located to pick her up. Therefore it had no map and the cabin was the farthest away from the lodge. My husband had to get one of the cleaners to tell him where to go because the staff wasn’t around. Once I got home from work to ask about her experience, I immediately saw disappointment on her face. She did the trail trotters as of a week ago. She said that they only assigned her one horse throughout the week. Additionally I had placed money in her canteen account to get snacks, she didn’t realize that was an option and no staff ever told her to take a look to see if she had money in the first place. So she was out of a snack daily and being able to fit in with her peers. Then she said they never had any camp fires and never had roasted marshmallows. Or even cooked over the camp fire. Was informed that she attended one bonfire. They never did anything with boating or swimming. They didn’t do any other activities as they said they would via the website. Additionally, they were to teach them more about horses. Well it was announced by the statement from the counselor that my daughter taught the counselors things. Which isn’t what I paid for. So for almost paying 1000.00 for everything that she needed to have, it wasn’t worth the money. They claim they hire experienced employees. Additionally the CEO had something as well about how the experience should be good. Though I can’t help but see anything positive about the experience my daughter had. When trying to do basic camping with her, which then would be having my husband and myself go, she doesn’t even want to think about it. Which now I believe my child is scarred for life."
