"I had such a great private first lesson with Jack. He explained everything well before getting out on the water. To help me save energy for catching waves, he paddled/towed me around a lot. He clearly tailors his approach to fit your needs! He also points out extra considerations like how to “dismount” safely and avoid rocks. He checked on me and encouraged me after every attempt! Because he was so great, I was able to stand up (and stay up) on my second wave! He also let me try out two different boards (different widths) to see which I prefer. Very relaxed and low stress first lesson. Went better than I thought it would!!! Thanks Jack!"

"We had a great lesson with Pearl this morning! My fiance and I have never surfed before. Pearl taught us the basics and got us to where we were able to stand-up on a few waves. It was a blast! Santa Barbara Surf School also made it super easy to find them. I only wish we had more time because I would have loved to rent boards and wetsuits (really reasonable rental prices) from them to play around a little longer on the smooth little waves."

"I made the appointment through "getyourguide", we met the team for our lesson at the beach at 1 o'clock. When we arrived we easily saw their truck and we met our instructor "JACK". He was very nice, communicative and knowledgeable. He quickly sized us for wetsuits, he trained us on some basic movements on the shore with the provided foam boards, then he had us out in the water. With his instruction we were able to stand up on the board on a wave before the time was over. Jack knows his stuff, he was able to diagnose our problems when we weren't catching waves and gave us the direction we needed to catch more waves. It was my 1st time surfing and I was very happy to try the class. I would try again, I'm going to try and get more people to go. Apparently they may have a discount for larger groups."
