"Staff was friendly. The rooftop pool was nice. We enjoyed the sauna. For the price, this place needs major updating. The second you walk in the hotel, a squeaky door welcomes you. The elevator was a little weird."
"If you’re a tourist looking for a great hotel to stay at in Duluth, I would recommend this hotel. Because here’s why: The location itself is really beautiful, it’s in the middle of canal park and if you choose the right room, you would have a breath taking view of Lake Superior itself. The rooms are nice and tidy, I didn’t notice any problems. The Pools are very nice as well, the big pool and the whirlpool near the lobby are well cleaned, same as the one on the roof as well. Overall, I would recommend to be here for a vacation."
"Very Clean large rooms. Comfortable beds. We had the jacuzzi King sweet. Loved it Breakfast had a large selection. We loves the smores. From 8 to 10pm Roof top pool was nice. Definitely would stay here again."
"Obviously the location is great! But there are plenty of other places around there to stay with a great view and location. Middle school boy hockey tournament was going on so there were lots of crazy loud wild boys everywhere, which we were totally fine with! The parents on the other hand could have been making sure their kids were just slightly more respectful of others being there as well. The ding dong ditching and lack of boundaries in the pools were something we would have been very aware of IF our family had the kids with. The roof top pool should have an earlier time for adults only (since they’re the ones paying) and have parents out there with their kids! There were NO parents out when we were out there. Hotel-wise. We were pretty disappointed. The trays in the room (for coffee and ice) were filthy! They had hair and layers of dust on them. The corners of the bathroom were also filthy. The room felt old and dingy. The sink and vanity are out in the room so if you wake before others or have to wash your hands in the middle of the night you get to wake up everyone else in the room. The beds were clean and comfortable, but that’s about it. The microwave had burns in it and we aren’t sure the fridge even worked… When we turned on the heat the loudest alien screeching noises came out. The food was NOT good, the coffee was NOT good. To top it all off the joined room next to us was listening to rap and hot boxing marijuana all night in their room (not on their deck like they claimed) and it flooded into our room, leaving us all nauseas and unable to sleep. Staff didn’t answer their phone during the night. It was a really disappointing stay to say the least. Especially when you pay as much as you do for a room. Not worth it! Unless they are able to get their stuff together to make it better."
"Our stay here was fantastic. The staff were friendly and very accommodating. We had originally booked at a different hotel that was quite a bit pricier. We switched our reservation here and we got a better view, discount for staying 2 nights in a row and great amenities. We appreciated the continental breakfast and the staff provided little things that we did not have with us such as a razor, corkscrew, and champagne glasses. The pool and hot tub were nice. We especially enjoyed watching the large ships come in and out of the harbor. Top it off with some hot apple cider and s’mores…. Wonderful and cozy."
