"Pulling up to the hotel for the first time should have been my first clue to not stay there. It looks more like a run down building with no windows and a terrible parking lot. This hotel needs some major upgrades. I will never stay at this hotel again. First, the waterpark wrist bands are not included with the room purchase. You have to pay $20 per person and they are only good for one day, so if your staying there for the weekend you have to buy park passes each day for $20/person. AND THE WATER PARK IS ONLY OPEN FROM 5PM-10PM!!. If I am going to pay that much for a waterpark pass, I expect to be able to stay at the park all day! The food in the water park is very over priced and absolutely disgusting! There is barley any room to set your towels and sit. The water had so much chlorine that my daughter and I had burning eyes the entire time. Our key cards kept not working and we were locked out of our room a few times. When I called the front desk from my cell phone to see if someone could help us, no one came and I had to walk to the lobby. The receptionist was extremely rude to me and kept telling me that it was my fault the keys card kept erasing and accused me of keeping it to close to my cell phone, which is what apparently causes the cards to reset. Now to the room.... Our toilet didn't flush unless you held the handle down for a while. Our shower also did not work very well. The pressure was so low because the thing you pull up on to change to shower mode was broken. The room was dirty and I found a bunch of fruit loop cereal under the beds. The fridge was sounding like it was on its last life and was very loud when the cooling motor turned on. Our TV kept loosing signal and my computer kept dropping the wifi signal. Our balcony view was absolutely beautiful, but the balcony itself was rusted and shared with the next room over. The door was so drafty and it was like a window was open in our room. We had to put down towels by the door frame so that the person sleeping in the bed by the door didn't feel the cold draft. When we go to Duluth, we usually stay at the Fairfield Inn on top of the mountain , but since this was our last trip to Duluth from Green Bay, my daughter and I wanted to stay at this waterpark hotel and regret every minute of it!!!"
"We have no plans on returning. I took my 3 year old daughter there Monday night to swim. I wanted to bring her Monday morning during the 8-10am slot but when I called the guy I spoke to said we couldn't for sure swim because we didn't have wristbands from the prior night. I asked if I could reserve our wristbands for the evening slot and he said I didn't need to reserve on a Monday. When we got there I was asked if I made a reservation for wristbands. The woman was very nice at the front desk. I explained I tried. She had to put a reservation in before selling us the wristbands. $20 for mine and $15 for my daughter. While waiting my daughter was overlooking the Water park with pure excitement! We decided to make a reservation for a room next Sunday. After going swimming, and seeing my daughter shivering 4 times, I was too at times, as well as not being able to see her enjoy the splash pad playground area because of the freezing water pouring down constantly. We quickly decided we were not coming back to swim again, and cancelled our room reservation on our way out. The arcade was fun, reasonably priced. All the staff were so nice. We went there for my birthday celebration with just her and I. I do want to say thank you for the fun we did find there."
"My expectations were extremely low. All of the negative reviews have kept me away from this water park for the 6 years we have lived in this area. Today is my son’s birthday and we decided to give Edgewater a chance. I made my husband go inside before we paid to double-check that the room was clean. The room was awesome. I made him go down to the water park to make sure it looked clean. All looked great there, too. We spent 5 hours swimming and we didn’t want to get out! We seriously had the best time we have ever had as a family. I guess if you think you’re super “high-society” then this isn’t the place for you… although I’m not sure what you would take issue with. The outdated carpet? The drapes? Give me a break."
"Room was dirty. Long black hairs on all pillows on both beds. Dirty lamp shades. Found used plastic spoons on the floor. Bed linens do not fit the beds properly. Air filter needs to be replaced. If I was the housekeeping supervisor I never would have passed this room. I will say when we called the office they were helpful. Room should be ready to accept new guests without having problems to get fixed. The stay served our purpose, but I would not recommend you stay there’s unless you check out the room first."
