"Let me preface with the good, and the ONLY reason why I’m giving TWO stars. Dr Singh and his team, specifically Nurse Tamara. My spouse and I see them for maintenance medications and always get treated with the upmost respect and care. Dr. Singh is highly compassionate, doesn’t waste time, is thorough when needed and has a sense of humor. Tamara is awesome as well. She goes above and beyond for us and is very down to earth. There is no judgement with this department here. However, I cannot say the same for the urgent care department at this location. We have been here several times now and been misdiagnosed twice, two separate family members. Ended up having to go to the ER. Secondly, I had two separate visits in the past two months and has been nothing but jerked around, misinformed, degraded, disrespected and interrogated, by the urgent care staff here. The first visit was with a NP that they call “Mitka” (sp?) and that Nurse basically provided me with a referral to specialist and didn’t tell us so we went to our primary outside of ampla and got the same referral also…..then, but as I found out, I also couldn’t see any specialist for podiatry, accept for at Ampla, unless I was able to drive 40 miles away. So Ampla was my ONLY option as I can barely drive with this injury. I called Ampla to get scheduled (mind you, ive been off work now for weeks due to this injury and need to get back ASAP) and they tell me “sorry but we don’t take outside referrals.”……..my mind was blown. But, nevertheless, I was determined to get into this specialist in order to get healed and get my butt back to work as quickly as possible. So as I spoke with the front desk lady, I was given a huge runaround and she treated us very poorly. She was rude and not very helpful. Eventually they told me he’d have to establish PCP there at Ampla or at least be seen back in urgent care again to get the referral started again. So I scheduled todays UC apt. Today topped all the visits I’ve encountered with Ampla. The medical assistant, was completely out of line, rude, obnoxious and disrespectful. She asked us about the previous visits and how I got here today or what was wrong basically. While explaining my wife and I were trying to get the important point across that I needed a referral to see a podiatrist, that we had received one from the “Mitka” lady in UC previously, but nobody told us, so we had my primary doctor from an outside office send one over instead, and that Ampla doesn’t accept outside referrals, but now the first referral from “Mitka” is expired. She left the room, came back in and started questioning me intensely. In the middle of questioning me, she asked how come we didn’t use the first referral and I told her, oh well I got one from my doctor instead and I didn’t know Ampla made a referral so I told them no when they called me to schedule as my doctor had already done one as well, and she blurted out “so, YOU cancelled it.” As if I had tried to lie about how the referral ended or something which wasn’t what was going on at all, we didn’t know about it until after my PCP wrote me one already, so when the nurse called to get me scheduled, I told them I didn’t need a referral because my doc was gonna send me out and find a podiatrist for me (not knowing at the time that I’d HAVE to go to Ampla, which wasn’t my first choice since I’d had bad experiences thus far). So, today I got the referral again, and I finally have a podiatrist appointment……..on April 29th 2024 (today is March 11th 2024) and this whole issue started back in JANUARY 2024. I’ve been out of work the entire time as my profession requires me to stand for 10 hrs a day. There are a few more smaller instances of mostly the MED assistants treating us snotty or having horrible bedside manner in the very least, but even the UC nurse practitioners aren’t helpful or courteous. It's a stark contrast from the care we receive from Dr. Singh, let alone ANY OTHER CARE FACILITY WE HAVE EVER WENT TOO! we will no longer go her unless we absolutely have too."
"My fiancee was JUST at Ampla today, 2/14... VALENTINE'S DAY, at 1145am, for an appointment with the rheumatologist her primary care doctor referred her to. She has had Fibromyalgia for the last 30 years and every other doctor has told her "it's all in your head", despite a diagnosis from UC Davis. THIS TIME WAS NO EXCEPTION. I am beyond disappointed. No one believes her, she is in constant pain, is depressed because none of her doctors are assisting her with her needs, which means that I have to pick up the slack for their incompetence. Fibromyalgia is NOT linked to depression. It is NOT psychiatric in nature. It is a problem having to do with excess pain signals in ALL of the body's nerve cells. She is on a walker and has been for years. Because we currently live in a shelter and have to walk everywhere, the tread of one tire is completely gone and the other three have bits of the tread missing. She needed help and this doctor was completely unable or unwilling to do so. I will be mentioning this next time I am there in person as well."
"I met with Steve Krikoriantz PA of Dermatology today Feb 7, 2024 at Ampla Health Chico. I was very happy with my visit. Steve is very knowledgeable, professional and treated me with care. I actually enjoyed my visit, he is very easy to talk with, helpful and I highly recommend him. Bless your lucky stars if you require a Dermatology issue looked at and you get to visit Steve. "They have lost my results in under 24 hrs. I've been waiting for 2 days with constant calling getting the same response. A couple of the receptionist were amazing enough to take time to look for the missing documents with no luck. I'm very disappointed in the department that are supposed to put the results into the system. They somehow disappeared between the fax machine and said department. I now have to wait 3 days for either new results or go elsewhere and have everything redone."
"My first visit with Dr. Megan Johnson went well. I thought she was really compassionate and I got the impression she wanted to help. My second visit with her I can’t say the same. She seemed like she wanted to argue with me on past records I presented to her and she wanted to follow the med book protocol, rather than listen to me about my past injury. I’ve had 3 other doctors and 2 physical therapists in the past since this injury tell me what I have will always require core strengthening exercises and physical therapy here and there. Spinal injuries aren’t fun. Dr. Johnson didn’t come off as having the same compassion and I didn’t enjoy speaking with her. She was very rude and not the same doctor I met the first time. I just want to say that since this doctor hasn’t experienced my injury, don’t tell me that it doesn’t exist just because a radiologist didn’t find it in an mri. Other doctors and physical therapists saw the pictures and said they saw the injury in the mri. I tried showing Dr. Johnson the picture of my spine and she got annoyed and didn’t even want to look saying she can’t read that. I’m a nurse, I could see the injury from the pictures. I’ve lived through the symptoms of this injury for 3 years now, so I’ve done enough therapy and research to know my symptoms. I think Dr. Johnson would benefit from actually listening to her patients rather than arguing with them, rolling her eyes, or acting annoyed. Maybe she was having a bad day, but that was no reason to take it out on me. Heck, I waited an hour past my appointment time in the room and I was still polite."
