"We’ve left the apartment spotless and zero damages. We’ve made sure that we return the unit the way we got it taking videos and pictures as evidence that we’ve did our part but we still received a $800 bill for “cleaning, damages, garbage clean up” and other hidden fees. They will raise the rent every month for no reason and there is no one to call or talk to about management. I would not recommend common maya."
"Honestly, my biggest regret of moving here was signing a lease here. Literally, live anywhere else. Apartments are pretty, but, god, at that price? They better be. There is no leasing office, so you have to call or use an app to get maintenance requests. Multiple "agents" then get your one request and it takes several months (for me almost 7 months) of back and forth emailing (their response times are long) to get something done if you don't work from home. Reports of loud parties happening late into the night, smoking in some units, very thin walls and ceilings. Take note that you will have many other fees attached to your rent, so make sure to budget for that as well. For example, the trash fee has been increased MONTHLY, and in the state of CA, this is totally legal. They will also try to take out any possible amount of money from you."
"I will start with the positives first: good neighborhood, modern apartments, nice/quiet residents. So why did I move out after 2.5 years?? . . . it all started when the new property owner took over. Long story short, Common is awful. Some examples . . . - Lied to me about being on the waitlist for parking, never gave updates - didn't want to negotiate my lease renewal, despite my loyalty - impossible to reach -- they use a call center and terrible email system - didn't believe my work order for a repair, took forever to get someone to fix - during move out charged me for "changes" to apartment which were there when I moved in - send passive aggressive "reminder" emails to residents - the amenities are not well taken care of - never saw property manager on site"
"Tiny, overpriced apartments with TERRIBLE maintenance/management. My a/c broke in the middle of summer and in over TWO months they have not sent anyone to try and fix it. It took them weeks to fix my washing machine and months to fix my dishwasher. Management has changed twice since I moved in ten months ago and things never get better. Update: I moved out over two months ago, I had to show them that "standard" deductions from my security deposit were not in my original lease so that they'd refund me and they still haven't even sent me the full security deposit amount that they'd agreed to."
"Thank God we are out of here. The top drawers in the kitchen are fake. Constant beeping. Bike got stolen from the 3rd floor balcony. No manager anywhere. The trash system is from the 1800's check how they deal with the dumpster every week. Takes like 5 minutes to get hot water. To the tap. Elevator is slow AF. It was broken for 2 weeks. Worst apartment ever. The fire department has to put a red tape notice to fix the the "beeping" which was a going off for more then 2 weeks in the lobby. And that was the alarm saying the emergency line to the fire department was disconnected."
