"This is the most ghetto, unprofessional place in Oakland. The manager there told us that we had until 12 o'clock to reserve. He had an attitude as soon as we walked in. He seemed extremely racist. He was rude and short with responses. We were very respectful to him. Since we booked the room 5 min before reservations stopped, he refused to give us our room. Saying it's not in his computer, so we cant get the room and that it takes 30 mins for it to show on his end. We reserved b4 12 and we would have waited. We reserved on time and PAID FOR IT. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE."

"The location and hotel in general is more than decent. But I’m making this review mostly for the lady with the red hair that works the front desk in the mornings, she is really nice, kind, sweet and really like the service she provides."

"I have given up 0n this place when it opened ln the early1960's it was the best motel in town.My aunt Betty was the decorator, It is way past due to close down one floor at a time and redo the the whole motel. With a sign renonaled 2024. The decor was done over 60 years ago! The lobby drapes weren't ment to last over 60 years. I remember the old day's when Rolls-Royce's were parked in the garage next to the lobby."

"The hotel is in a very convenient location, easy access to local buses, ferry, and Amtrak station. The quality of the hotel is alright if you're not planning to spend too much time inside but a place to rest and sleep, nice, clean, comfortable, and friendly staff. However, Jack London Sq. and near-by downtown Oakland is not like before the lock down. The general area is not where you want to stroll after dark. Most businesses closed after dark. Is this a telling enough? Do more research to find different locations. I feel sorry for ordinary people who have to live, and work there. I can only hope that things will get better there."

"The rooms have been remodeled and upgraded. I was surprised when I opened the room door. The mattress is wrapped, and there is clean bedding. The view is industrial, within walking distance of Jack London Square and the harbor. Breakfast is served in the atrium, which is nice and roomy, with a rooftop patio. Where you can hear the BART Metra trains pass through."
