Reviews of Radius Apartments
"Radius has been a pleasure to live in. The apartment itself is spacious with a beautiful tree outside sitting perfectly below the windowsill. All "issues" have been addressed swiftly, including the need for a new Washer/Dryer. Not only did this get replaced within a couple of days, but we also got a slight upgrade in what type of washer/dryer we got (yay!). Francisco was the tech who helped install this and was very courteous of my two pets wondering about as he was working. I have lived in over 7 apartments across the west coast. And I mean APARTMENTS. Radius is a large community with hundreds of people living here, so somethings cannot be avoided. For instance, I hear people in the hallway at times (small children), elevators need repair (but in my experience, it only took a day to get repaired. No further issues since we moved in)... When I sign-up to live in an apartment, these types of things just don't bother me. Moreover, I expect them to happen from time to time. The Radius team has already been communicative about when issue do occur, and seem to get them resolved in a timely fashion. Reading through other comments, my advise would be to not live in a large, apartment community. If you are okay with the apartment living lifestyle, Radius is a great choice with a location that is hard to beat (walking distance to RWC Downtown!). 10 out of 10 recommend to other openminded apartment renters."
"This place is a joke. Everything was in working order when we signed the lease and moved in. Fast forward about a month and the HVAC system starts leaking in the guest bathroom. Maintenance “fixes” it and we no longer have an issue. A few weeks later, the leaking started again and flooded the entire guest bathroom. Zero urgency on behalf of Radius. They came back a couple days later and “repaired” it. The issue, however, is that then there was zero airflow in the primary bedroom and bathroom. We immediately filed a maintenance request only to have it go unacknowledged for more than a week, and then not have maintenance arrive until a month later. Horrible communication and we still do not have working AC. Additionally, maintenance (Francisco and Jonathan) continues to close out maintenance requests as soon as someone leaves our unit. There’s no follow up to ensure things are in working order. No one at the leasing office answers the phone, and Essex hasn’t responded to our messages for assistance. Lastly, elevators are constantly in and out of service. Do not sign here."
"Lived here for 4 years. Give a 1 star because of the move out inspection experience - they make you pay for so many costs. Will update my rating after getting my security deposit and know how much they really charge to let you go."
"I’m a current resident and I’ll get to the chase. If you need reliably working elevators, you absolutely cannot live here. The two elevators in the building are almost never both working. The front elevator has been broken 50% of the time in the last year or so. Not only that, the apartment management does not take responsibility for its mistakes. Yesterday, they made a point of sending out an email saying that both elevators are now working. I read the email and kept my delivery scheduled for today, and voila, I find both elevators broken. I spent 30 minutes carrying heavy boxes all the way up to the apartment during my work day and in extreme frustration called the management. Ah, the response! “No apartment is perfect and things will be broken from time to time.” No apologies offered. Lady, do you think I’d be boiling angry if this is the first time? We’ve already complained about the elevators multiple times asking to take action - since at least beginning of this year (of course, from repeated episodes the previous year). The apartment management’s cool “not my problem” attitude continues in other issues. They would change the code for the door lock for the package room and then not tell the delivery folks. Packages then pile up outside, because, well delivery folks can't get in the room, and they get stolen. Management's response? “Oh, now they know the new code. Problem solved!” Never a word of hey, we messed up sorry, we’ll make sure this doesn’t happen again. The same mistake repeats every now and then, and I see packages piling up outside the package room. Well, you just gotta hope you’re not going to be unlucky. Other than the incompetent management, the apartment is quite nice. The ceiling is high, windows are big, the appliances and amenities are great, the apartment’s spacious and quiet. I just wish the management would do something to not ruin the tenant experience. Honestly, just some sincere “we are sorry” would go such a long way. “How is this my problem” attitude from people who are supposed to represent the management just makes me laugh in resignation. Update: the management sent out an email acknowledging the situation and reminded us that “access to stairs will remain open” during this time. They are basically the land lord incarnation of Marie Antoinette. They continue to blame the vendors while taking no responsibility for their refusal to fix the fundamental technical problems that contribute to frequent breakdowns. Please stay away if you need reliable elevators."
"Package loss is still a problem My order of a $300 sunglasses was delivered in the package room yesterday noon. When I checked the room today, I didn’t find it. I instantly knew why when I saw this(attached photo). Some packages are opened and left there!(Cuz the thief is not interested clearly). Some empty packages wrappings are left there too. When I checked the package room door, even though with a smart lock, it still doesn’t automatically lock itself after close! The leasing office could simply have someone check IDs when people come to get packages, which is what my old apt did. Instead, they seem to chill in the office room of the other building with the door shut! What can I say. They also gave me a broken key fob when I moved in last year but never replace it as they promised. Bad management. Think twice before move in!"
