Reviews
"Cheshill was built in 2018 but the lack of upkeep makes this place look older. The common areas look filthy. The carpets in the elevator used to reek of urine/feces until the carpets were taken out. The hallways are still carpeted. Outsiders/ non-residents gain entry into the lobby entrance by simply waiting for someone to go in/out the door. Everyone lets in these tailgaters, so the only effective defense between your unit and any random people on the street is your actual apartment door. Anyone can steel the mail and packages since it's just left out in the mailroom lobby. In regards to amenities, there's a Weber grill and large tables on the rooftop. This is an uncovered and unmaintained area so it's open to dirt, debris, bird poop. The gym room is hot and stuffy, and is located on the first floor next to the garage. It’s not pleasant working out in a 87 degree unventilated room. No windows. There are pest control devices in this room. You have to bring your own toilet paper and hand towels if using the gym bathroom. There is no A/C in the building. The units have a decent amount of windows allowing in natural light. However, only a few windows can be cranked open. The rest of the window cannot be opened at all. The main source of ventilation, if needed, would be to slide open the balcony door. Pigeons like to visit this building and hang out in front of your windows. Garaged parking cost $350/month. Utilities (water, sewer, trash, gas, electricity) are not included in the rent. The area is all metered street parking. Mission Street has street sweeping daily starting at 5am. A street cleaning ticket cost $85. I’ve had my car window smashed during the night when parked on the street. The only thing stolen was my FasTrak device mounted on my windshield. The real estate company, Andersen Jung & Company, provide the property management for this building. There is an on-site resident manager. I highly recommend you read the reviews on Andersen Jung & Company. This apartment building is not maintained well. The common areas are not inviting. The neighborhood looks rundown. The pubic trash bins are overfilled and trash is always on the ground. The Motel is located next-door. Alpha Pregnancy Center is next to this Motel to educate women & families facing unplanned pregnancy. And Mike's Liquor store is next to the Pregnancy Center; they sell beer by the keg. There is a produce store down the block called Baby & Mom who serves those with EATSF Vouchers and food stamps. Safeway is also situated further down the block. The majority of their merchandise is locked up because of high theft. Marijuana dispensary shops are abundant in this neighborhood."
"This apartment complex has been really nice since we have moved in, friendly and responsive apartment managers and very nice interiors."
"Manager Gabriel is very kind and help full. Thanks again for keeping the building clean and well maintained."
"The previous on-site manager (Paul) was awesome, but after he left and the new one (Gabriel) came, everything went downhill. The new manager never responded to emailed or text messages and if he did it took a week after the request was made. During the one year I lived there several tenants set off the water sprinklers and alerted the fire department. This resulted in everyone having to evacuated and was highly inconvenient during the pandemic. No one bothered to compost. The bins were perpetually empty and every time I threw mine in, I could see it was the only item in the bin. The management rented out a large portion to section 8 housing. There were a lot of kids in the building and a lot of noise. It’s not what you would expect from a new / semi luxurious sf building. There were times when I signed up for the gym and either a group of kids barged in (and they played basketball in a space not meant for basketball) or another tenant popped and in and wouldn’t leave. This was back when we had the covid 1 household at a time policy. For the price I would find a more trendy neighborhood with young professionals or somewhere more safe. 33 seneca did not offer the comfort or the safety of upscale living in Sf. The only saving grace was that we were charged a reasonable amount after we moved out. I think it was something like $200 for cleaning and some blinds the cats damaged. There was also EV charging and they didn’t charge extra for that. We just paid for the parking spot."
"Bad experience after we decided to move out. They asked us to show the room three more times a week even we disagreed with it. They also charged us more than 700 dollars for cleaning the room. Never consider it again in the future. Bad management"
