"the apartments are fine but the police in the area are predatory and routinely harass people on the basis of race and economic status"
"This is the limit! Today , I witnessed twice in the same day people being stuck in the elevator and fire department coming to rescue. How is this building safe enough? We have people who need the elavators and cannot use the stairs. The elavators are always broken. The repair job on each floor says danger sign for the water damage and asbestos and we have not being communicated once by the management about any precautions that need to be taken. Who is to say and assure that it is safe air that we breathe? The locks don’t work on the doors and gates most of times after iterating through innumerable key changes and inconveniences to the residences. The management is always absent and/or dismissing concerns. @management: please explain how are we to feel safe in this building ? And how can this dwelling be considered livable? I would not recommend this apartment to anyone. The management is irresponsible and irresponsive to say the least."
"I am a current resident of this apartment, and have been for roughly 18 months. I want to tell you (warn you) about my time here. During my tenure, I have had over $1,500 worth of packages stolen from me here. I have and will not ever see any reimbursement or replacement from these stolen packages. This past week, I had a $500 fishing reel stolen within 20 minutes of it being delivered. This occurred around lunchtime, broad daylight, in the lobby. The person who stole this package was 100% captured on video, but I have not heard back ANYTHING regarding any progress on identifying who stole my package within an identified 20 minute time window from the management or police. Despite a Luxor being mere feet away, the mail people frequently leave packages in areas not under surveillance. I would not be surprised one bit if the mail people do this on purpose in conjunction with thrives, as there are signs up telling them not to do this and the front office people have told me that they tell them not to do this. But it happens. Repeatedly. To me. To others. And the residents have to eat the lost cost. I can not trust any of the mail services to get me my mail here. It makes me sick. Deeply angry. I see fellow residents literally sprint down the stairs to pick up their mail once they receive notification that something has been delivered. I am not exaggerating when I tell you that I have seen people sweaty, stressed, and out of breath. There are active thieves in this building. Probably in the surrounding neighborhood as well. Security is practically non-exsistent. Anyone can come in and out at any time. People commonly complain that their LAUNDRY gets stolen. Of all things, laundry. It’s completely shameful. Just as bad as the thieves here is the indifference from management. I, someone who pays their rent on time always, doesn’t cause any trouble, have requested to speak with management on several occasions. NOT ONCE has anyone reached out to me. They know about issues regarding theft and appear not care enough to take care of their residents. Many people here don’t respect the other residents. There is always dog poop in the grass. It seems like someone’s car gets broken into weekly. I have seen multiple human excrements in the stairs and in my hallway. There is litter and broken glass in the parking lots/on the grounds. There is nothing nice about the neighborhood. The only redeeming quality is that it is close to a health care facility. That’s literally all I can think of. I regret every minute that I live here. I hate every dollar I give to this place. There are better, safer, more secure places. I would encourage you to look elsewhere. I know I will once my lease is up."
""Please call the office", this is your response? Wow. Your staff only picks up the phone one out of five times and don't really have power to do anything. -------------original review------------------ Lived here for a year., don't recommend it. Good: 1. neighbors are nice afaic. Problems: 1. leaky windows -> super cold in the winter and no heater is powerful enough to keep the room warm. 2. broken washer and dryers all the time, filthy laundry room. 3. crazy drivers doing donuts/tire burning/reving engines past midnight. 4. slow drainage 3-4 times a year in the basin/bathtub."
"PROS: The management and the staff here are very nice and helpful. The service if something is broken is pretty quick. The swimming pool is always well maintained, so is the Gym and pool table. The common room is a good place to have socials and parties. The apartment is spacious and well lit with natural lights. CONS: Apartment building is situated pretty much on US-101, the most congested highway in the Bay Area Peninsula. The single pane apartment windows are very old with no seals. The noise of cars/trucks driving along the highway can get rough at times. During colder weather, you can feel the cold weather coming through the windows. It's VERY cold inside the apartments. The interior heating system doesn't help. There is NO visitor parking. The building claims 'security'. Anyone can walk into the building. The utility bills charged by the rental company are OUTRAGEOUS. For a 1 bedroom apartment (690 sq ft), we were charged on average $175 per month for water/garbage/sewer! Be prepared for $250 a month for utilities on top of the rent. The elevators do not work half the time. The hallways are dirty most of the times."
