"My Husband worked at Rockland Flooring in their West Lorne Ontario Plant. The work it's self was not bad, Supervisors and managers were all awesome. Wages and benefits are far better then most factories. That being said, The woman who is head of humane resources is a horrible person. Mary Jane Gosnell Personally had a vendetta against my husband. My husband had missed work because of our son being sick, and she said that wasn't allowed. In her words Our son could be dying but he should still show up for work. Later My husband had a back injury and she tried using it to get him fired. He obtained the proper paper work from our doctor and brought them into her, to prove why he was off work. She then refused to allow him to return to work until he had permission to return from his doctor. Another week before he could get another appointment. He brought the proper paperwork she requested and returned to work. My husband was late one day, and received a 3 day suspension. While on his 3 day suspension he was fired. We did not learn this from the company we learned this from the community. We live in a small town population 2500 We were told at first that it was because a machine broke while he was using it and that's why he was fired. Then we were told it was because of the days he missed while off with his back, then we came to learn she fired him for not coming to work the 3 days he was suspended?? Now because we live in a small town he can not get another job because she keeps bad mouthing him to potential employers. My husband was hired at a restaurant only to be told the day he was to start he didn't have the job. This is because of Mary Jane Gosnell. My husband has been paying into unemployment insurance for years, but when They called Rockland flooring, Mary Jane Gosnell told Unemployment that he had missed 25 days without calling. Ten of those days were due to his back injury which he provided documentation for. 5 of those 10 days were because Mary Jane Gosnell refused to allow him to come back to work, until she had Doctors permission. Now we are struggling to get by on my income alone because Mary Jane Gosnell has made it so he can not get a job or unemployment insurance. I believe they were sued in the past because of the same thing happening to another former employee. We are now perusing legal action against Rockland Flooring and Mary Jane Gosnell. I can't speak for the companies other plants, But I would stay far away from Rockland Flooring in west lorne Ontario and their Head of Humane resources Mary Jane Gosnell. We have tried to contact the heads of Rockland Flooring and no one has gotten back to us. We are hoping that our lawyer has an easier time. TO Rockland Flooring Head huncho's. It is horrible you allow such a person to not only work for you, but to be head of humane resources is ridiculous. She abuses her power and has slandered your employee's. I hope she is worth going to court over."
