"Went to check in. Was told that I had to pay at the window. Showed her the reservation and she insisted that I hadn't payed yet. For 10 dollars more we could a private bathroom but we still had to pay.Also told we had to share a bathroom with the next unit."

"Stay at Pads to enjoy motorcycle noise at night, fire trucks driving by all the time, observation of contemporary art objects (such as an imitation electric kettle) and a rich and vibrant community of big, athletically fit brown cockroaches roaming through the room at night and occasionally showing up even at daytime. You have your window for HVAC, and if you need reliable internet access, bring your own 4G hotspot."

"If I could give it 0 I would. I didn’t even make it to check-in because they canceled my reservation less then 24hrs before I was set to arrive. I called over 50 times with 3 different phones and not 1 person picked up the phone. I contacted booking as they were who I booked from and informed them I’ve been canceled and they had no idea. According to their system it was an active listing because the property had not followed procedures and contacted the booking agent to let them know. Booking called the property 3 times and emailed them and nothing. Finally I received a short and uninformed reply that my card could not be processed, mind you I was using it as it’s my travel card and never once had an issue. They tried to collect payment still because it was “within 7 days of check in” so I had to call again and have the transaction returned. This is a COMPLETE scam and we drove by the property and honestly it is quite a dump. Probably for the best."

"My experience: Positive points: The fact that the Landlady was helpful and tried to help us the best she could each time (even though sometimes I had the feeling I was bothering her more than anything). the supermarket just across the road and eateries around (Chinese, Japanese, etc). The fact that the subway metro station was about 9mn walking distance (Lincoln/cypress about 2 stops from Union gold line) and the neighbourhood was not that bad. The Bed was comfortable. The shelves and the space. Shampoo and soap provided. The Fridge, the microwave and the kettle were quite convenient also with a sink and water point as there was no bathroom in the room. Fresh and clean linen and towel. The fact that the landlady was kind enough to lend us some tableware (like bowls, cutlery, plastic glass). Negative points: The pictures look nicer online (it's actually older than what you see). I had a 1cm gap with my window and was unable to close it fully (I was advised to put a towel for the gap, things I had already done as it was very cold at night). Also when I arrived I could notice that the floor was not too too clean either (but disregarded it). The nights were really cold specifically with a gap in the window so I asked if I could have a heater as it was listed in the items (thank god) however the day I decided to watch TV it seems that I had to choose between having the heater on and watching the TV as it was making tripping off the electricity all the time each time I was doing both... and this for both my friend's room and mine, but for mine, it was making tripping off the main plugs like the TV, the Fridge and the microwave so it was quite annoying (specifically after having a cut after 11pm one day and ended up with my fridge melting overnight...).After more or less 3/4 electricity cuts I gave up on watching TV and it solved the problem. My friend next door to me was unlucky to have a few cockroaches (she was less scared of them than me) and I was praying for it to don't be the case for me as I couldn't see any since the beginning and that she saw few of them. Cockroaches are a big no no for me and hate it. Until the day when my friend heard me scream because I had 1 in my room (overall for me it was only 1 but 1 too many). Also, a very important point the blinds were really not in good condition at all and I struggled to put them in a certain way to ensure nobody could see me from the outside, then I left them that way for the entire stay (as it was a real piece of work)."

"DO NOT BOOK HERE. Tonight, I showed up after booking on booking.com. I was told that there was no room available, yet I have a booking. Apparently I didn’t pay - also not true, as booking charges. Then, I was told there was something wrong with the room and there are no rooms. But the lady couldn’t bother to cancel?!? And told ME to contact booking to get a refund. So now, I’m out at least $600 for what?! I don’t know. PLEASE DO NOT BOOK THIS PLACE!!!!! Especially don’t book on booking.com, which has zero customer support right now. This is the worst experience I’ve ever been a part of. Please do not give this lady any of your money. Update on my review: I booked through booking.com, and as you can read above, the lady told me to cancel through them and LIED about what happened. To avoid paying to relocate me, Booking.com told me: "The original property Pads on Pasadena Ave told us that you have left the room and the hotel because of unmet expectations, you weren't satisfied with the property and now you've booked somewhere else for the duration of your stay." This is not true, as you can read above. DO. NOT. BOOK. HERE."
