"I used to share great reviews for this place but my family got COVID severely and forgot to call them to cancel a basic check up and even though I explained my scenario they still charged me over $100 dollars. Just want money."
"I went here with my family to get a second opinion about my dogs situation and this place was so great and gave us hope and options. We have been here before in the past for my dogs and cats i’m pretty sure but since then we moved to san jose and we made the drive down here just because this place is so great. My 14 year old black lab was really old and he started growing huge tumors on the side of his abdomen. This place gave us the option to surgically remove it and we were more than happy to do that since the last place just told us to put down the dog (we really wanted it removed). Long story short, we found out that this tumor was more cancerous and would spread really fast and his recovery would be 50/50 chance of him surviving. we decided that day during surgery that we should go ahead and put our old doggy down since he was already asleep and we didn’t want further complications to where it injured him. But the way this place handled things was amazing. i asked if i could see him before he was put down and I was so happy i was able to be there for my doggy as he went to sleep. (some vet places don’t let you be in the same room of when they put down your dog because it’s a policy thing but im soo happy i could see him before.) They laid out blankets and candles and gave us a button doorbell to push when we were ready to put him down so it would let the staff know. they gave us all the time we needed with him and we were really grateful of that. I had a small favor to ask and that was to take some pieces of hair and whiskers off my doggy to keep since i also have hair of my other old doggy that passed away years ago and they were more than happy to do that for us. driving home for us was the hardest part because it’s the quietest and most sad car ride knowing your dog isn’t in the back seat wagging its tail and that dog won’t be coming home with you. But a week or 2 later. we got a handwritten card in the mail from this place with a stamp of my doggy’s foot print and that made me burst out in tears. I’m so happy to have this card to remember my childhood dog. Thank you Scott’s Valley Veterinary Clinic. My family truly appreciates the doctor and the whole staff. Even though i didn’t get to take home my doggy in the end, you guys showed love and compassion and we appreciate that."
"Scotts Valley Veterinary has been our vet for many, many years. I have to say that the veterinarians on staff now are the best ever. We had to make the decision to put one of our pups down this week. When I called the office on Monday after my pup hadn’t eaten all weekend and was very lethargic, the schedule was too full to see us. They suggested I go to the ER. I was heartbroken. I later called and spoke to Dr. Clift about the results of my pets bloodwork from the week before so that I could share that info with the ER vet and she found a way to squeeze us in to the schedule. She kept in touch with me multiple times throughout the day with the results of the tests performed. When it was determined my pup had a large mass with an aggressive cancer, she was so kind, patient and helpful going over our options and making suggestions. I was very impressed and grateful. After a difficult a few days and steady decline, when we decided it was time to let our little guy go, everyone was extremely supportive. The room had a soft blanket, gentle candles and dimmed lights. Dr. Em kindly explained to me what would happen and gave me choices about staying with Casey through various stages of the process. She gave us plenty of time alone and was attentive to our needs. Casey fell asleep as I held him like a baby. He relaxed and began to snore his little snore. It was very calm and peaceful. There was no rush and everyone was quiet and respectful. I’m grateful for all the staff who helped us through this most difficult time in Casey’s life with kindness and compassion. The thoughtfulness made these sad days a little easier for us to bear."
"Wow, I have too many good things to say about this clinic. When I arrived with my distressed cat Mu, I was initially told there was a two week wait for appointments. However the receptionist patiently listened as I explained Mu's symptoms and health issues and she conferred with other staff and doctors so that Mu could be seen the same day due to an emergency blockage in his urinary tract. The intake procedure was quick, the estimated costs of treatment were clearly provided, and the two other staff I spoke with were friendly and accommodating. After leaving Mu for the day, I received a phone call from Dr. Emily Miller just a couple hours later and she generously provided me a detailed explanation of Mu's diagnosis and treatment options. I can't say enough good things about Emily. She's warm and sympathetic while still being professional and conveying a wealth of important medical info (I wish my PCP was more like this!). I was able to retrieve Mu that same afternoon after he completed the necessary tests and was prescribed a couple new medications. His blockage was resolved and he's been happily recovering ever since. I was also pleasantly surprised to receive a follow up phone call a day or so later from Dr. Emily. I appreciates this additional communication and the continuity of care demonstrated by this clinic. All in all, I have to say this is probably the best vet clinic I've ever visited and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to others. Thank you Dr. Emily and all the staff at Scotts Valley Veterinary Clinic!"
"Absolutely awesome Veterinarian practice! Everyone we interacted with was first rate! Very professional and got the sense that each staff member, front desk, Nurse and Doctor, CARED about us. Just as important is the fact I feel like I received sound medical advice for one of my closest friends… an older sweetheart of a cat nicknamed Witty Witty, Thank you Scotts Valley Veterinary! Just an hour after the appointment and she was already relaxed and feeling better : )"
