"The IOH Riverside Clinic is a breath of fresh air in today's challenging medical environment. It begins and ends with the staff. Dr. Pinto, Dr. Olsen, Jason, Jacob, David, Monica, Jenny, Taylor, Melissa, Evelyn etc etc etc are amazing people and deserve the utmost praise. They truly care and work so hard to help people, using a broad variety of approaches, methods and techniques. Their knowledge within their respective fields is second to none and I appreciate them, more than I can ever relay here. Thank you to IOH, for everything."
"If it wasn’t for this place, I would be lost. These people are a great help especially Dr. Pinto. Everybody here is very friendly, very accommodating, but Miss Pinto, Jason David, and Monica were the best teachers I ever had. I also miss Miss Aubrey. She is no longer here but what these providers did for me help me a lot and I would always be in their debt. If it wasn’t for them I wouldn’t feel the way I am feeling now, so if you ever plan on coming here, just know it’s a great place, and if you ever need help, always go to Miss Pinto because she will run after you to help you . just know the tactics that David teaches you will help you Just as the same as Jason‘s tactics will help you as well. Just know this place Is a great outstanding place I just hope they don’t let no more people go"
"IOH is the best rehabilitation program I have found. Everyone is so nice and they really care about my pain and injuries!"

"Coming here has been the best thing to happen for me in my TBI recovery journey! From the moment you step through the doors, you can tell how much the providers care about you as a person and your recovery. Prior to coming here, I had such a negative experience with doctors for my injury, doctors that had undervalued the many symptoms I have been experiencing, dismissed me, & cut me short without giving any guidance on how to treat or even begin to cope with the numerous challenges faced daily. When you have a brain injury, you are often told to "advocate for yourself," but what people don't see because of the invisible nature of a brain injury is how next to impossible that can be when you have lost your ability to think, reason, hold multiple questions in your mind (let alone remember the answers), & have lost most of your vocabulary. Coming here was different, for the first time since injury I was surrounded by providers that cared, truly heard you, had patience, recognized the symptoms I was having, explained why they were happening, & how to improve them. They also have providers that have had TBI's & understand what we are going through. In addition to the providers, IOH has an amazing sense of community among the patients. While all of the TBI patients have different presentations of symptoms, many of us can relate to similar symptom experiences. As much as the people in our lives may empathize with what we are going through as best as they can, they often cannot fully understand it unless they have physically been through it, which often results in a lot of misunderstandings w/those that care about us. So having people that understand you is huge! We share our wins, challenges, & things that have worked for us along the way. Dr. Pinto - From the moment I stepped into IOH you reassured me at every step that I was going to be okay, you were such a comforting force that was so kind, compassionate, & patient. I had so many questions and came in completely lost with no idea what to do, but you have helped me so much and I am so happy I got to start my IOH journey with you. You have such an amazing gift and truly are there for everyone at the facility. I cannot say enough positive things about the providers at IOH! During my short time here, I've already seen so much improvement! I came in having lost most of my vocabulary (both simple words & advanced vocabulary), could not follow conversations, had intense cognitive fog, extreme fatigue, bad dizziness & accompanying vision issues (due to compensation for vestibular system damage), among many other symptoms. Since coming here, I have regained most of my pre-injury vocabulary, which was pretty extensive (started with remembering easy words, then slowly the more advanced vocabulary returned), complex thinking & problem-solving abilities are returning, I can go in a busy grocery store without having to hold onto a shopping cart anymore due to the dizziness, vision has gotten a lot better so having a lot less visual disturbances, my cognitive endurance is increasing, memory is improving, and so much more! Although my time at IOH isn't finished yet, I cannot thank the entire team at IOH enough for all that you do! Thank you for giving me hope and helping me with coping strategies/techniques to help manage the symptoms as we work on rebuilding & rewiring my brain. For anyone considering this location for treatment, please do! I wouldn't be where I am today without the help of each of the providers here! Some tips: The program works if you put in the effort! Trust the program, show up each day (even on days when you don't feel like it), and work the steps. The providers are going to push you, but they won't push you past what you can handle (trust them). There are going to be things that are going to seem extremely difficult at first, but they get easier the more you practice them & as your brain rewires itself. Typically the things that were hardest for me, were the ones that I needed to do the most work in & doing so has made for large improvements. Thank you again IOH!"
