"Dr. Lam took forever to get to patients in the waiting room and did a horrible job on braces after being fed up going to someone else more reputable orthodontists, saying that my teeth could be aligned more properly."
"Dr. Lam tries to schedual people around his time. For instance, I asked for a 1:30 appointment to pick up retainers, and I asked if I could come around 4:30 instead despite telling him already on the phone that I have work at 3:00."

"Laid off a few months ago and needed to get my teeth cleaned before my insurance ran out. Aetna assigned me Rio Dental (Dr. Hai Xuan Lam). I visited this place twice before making an appointment. Stephanie confirmed that my insurance was good, but since I downgraded to a HMO it will cost $100.00 to do the cleaning and deep cleaning. Agreed. After Stephanie called and confirm my appointment the day before, I assume everything was good. Wait for it!! After the procedure was done, the doctor said I have no insurance and I lied about it. He repeatedly called me a liar and said I was not good person through his strong Korean accent. I was so numbed up, it took me a second to realize this guy is yelling at me and accusing me of lying about my insurance? I reminded him that you check on it before I made the appointment and said everything was good. He replied" I ran the report on 10/1/2016 and it said terminated". Appointment was schedule for 10/26/2016 and I visited the office two times after the report was run. He later said I had to pay an extra $100.00 on top of the agreed amount of $100.00 for the procedure. The actual cost, as he mentioned several times, is $850.00 for the procedure and he gave me a discount. Lucky me. As he continued to berate me in front of other customers, I remained calm through my numb face and called him rude. He then said I could not leave until I pay the $200.00 and threaten to call the police. I said I will wait. This went on for 20 minutes. It ended with me saying I will check on my insurance tomorrow because I know this is a mistake on your end. Next day. Insurance is in good standing. Called the office to speak to Stephanie and the doctor answered the phone. I told him the insurance is good, but he kept asking me why the report said terminated. I said that's your problem. The way this guy treated me and I'm a big guy. I can only imagine how he treats people that do not stick up for themselves as proven in some of the posts. I will be reporting him to the ADA for violation of his code of ethics as set forth by the American Dental Association and I hope they look into finances. Something is going on there and he is seriously taking advantage of people. Also, my teeth still hurt."
