"Easy colonoscopy experience, I’ve been here twice. My husband dropped me off at the building and the location is the first lobby on the left. The colonoscopy experience is a breeze. The sedation they use is of higher quality than what’s used in previous procedures. Far less grogginess, recovery time, short term memory loss, etc. Within a couple hours I felt completely back to myself. I’ve never noticed any internal irritation after the procedure. Kind people work there, it seems like they all get along great and are passionate about what they do. I’ve felt informed and in control at every step. Dr Susie Cohn is one of the best internal medicine doctors I’ve ever had. Proactive with care which is what I need, I’ve had my disease since 5th grade and its refreshing and much needed to have someone who is actively monitoring my health and always seeking out the best solutions. One watch out is the billing. I’m not sure if there’s a different classification for this type of center but I’ve had some billing issues. Previously, I paid over $600 out of pocket with BCBS PPO, the team had informed me they went through my insurance and this is what I had to pay. This time around I was told that I could either pay up front or bill the insurance first, which wasn’t voiced over to me previously, but was probably in fine print. I chose bill insurance, we’ll see if I’ll end up needing to pay this amount. Before the appointment I had been sent a packet with recommendations around billing that I will follow, including recommendations to contact insurance directly. I had also been called and had been left a voicemail with details around my payment, so there were never any surprises day of. I would recommend following all of their recommendations and speaking to someone from East Bay Center about it when they call."
"Horrible trying to find parking wasn't told I needed to find security to use elevator. Not a happy patient.Adfress on building is near impossible to see brown font on dark brass. Somebody forgot humans need visible signage."
"This place is a bureaucratic nightmare. Many problems with scheduling including long hold times, then being canceled at the last minute after having already started the procedure to prepare and also having arranged a ride. Then there are problems afterwards, where I cannot find anyone who will speak to me about what the procedure revealed. I have tried calling and tried emailing and do not get a response. It is hard to say if the doctors are good because you never really get a chance to talk to them."
"By far the worst gastroenterologists we've dealt with. Inhumane and no consideration for patients at all whatsoever. The only positive comment I can say is Dr. Danny (who preforms the endoscopies and colon exams) is so kind and listens to his patients. It's heartbreaking and mind blowing to see how this healthcare is failing its patients. The type of doctors they allow to work in the healthcare system is insane. My mother was diagnosed with lymphoma cancer a few years ago and since then has suffered with severe stomach problems. Endoscopies can be done every year if needed, even up to 3 times a year. My mother today had a video consultation with her gastroenterologist, Luba Teytelman. My mother explained to this doctor that she's been having severe stomach pain since November including burning sensations which was a symptom of cancer. Her primary doctor sent a referral letter so this lady could order an Endoscopy. To me, after all these years and seeing how she talks to my mom and seeing how she thinks, it's truly heartbreaking. She refused to order an endoscopy for my mother because she had one 2 YEARS AGO!! Ma'am if you're a doctor, then you'll know a lot can happen in 6 months or even in 1 YEAR! Not only did she refuse to order an endoscopy, but she said her stomach pain is due to depression...and wanted to prescribe antidepressants....WTH!!! This is why patients get worse before they get better because by the time they're actually diagnosed ITS TOO LATE BC OF PEOPLE LIKE HER!!! I was forced to end the call because I could not tolerate listening to the way she was talking to my mother. Making her believe it's all in her head and there's nothing wrong. I sure hope her attitude changes towards her patients even with difficult patients...instead of just pushing them to the curb for a second opinion. Otherwise, doctors like her should have their license revoked. You treat patients unjustly just because you know we need YOUR HELP and we are forced to go through you guys to get better. But I'm thankful we're getting a second opinion, maybe this time they'll actually listen to my mother's concerns before it's too late. If you can avoid going here please avoid it...or make sure you're assigned a different gastroenterologist."
"I've been a patient of Dr. Stollman and then Dr.Vesga over the past almost 20 years. I have been very pleased with the personable service, excellent advice and wonderful bedside manner of them both. I've had at least a dozen procedures done at the Center on bottom floor and always found the process to be fairly easy. The center is clean, there are plenty of nurses and techs making sure the process for the exam is smooth and I always feel safe and well cared for. For those who are having their first exam, it might feel like a blur, the medication can make it hard to remember events directly after your exam, so they do warn you to take it easy and avoid making important decisions the day of your exam. The clinic is a well oiled machine, so you may be done with the exam and recovery sooner than you think - which is how I prefer it!"
