Reviews
"Poor service and outrageously overpriced. It takes months to get an appointment even for an established patient (=poor service). Then I was charged more than $4,000 for a simple mole removal. Others have used other local providers and were charged a tenth of that. Some of the doctors at Stanford may have their hearts in the right place, but the enterprise overall has the moral compass completely off."
"Disclaimer: this is about my experience, not the dermatologist or staff's skill, which may well be good. I don't know and unfortunately it's not worth my money to find out. tl;dr, laser hair consultations here are a ripoff. They don't (and won't) give prices beforehand and charge $200 just to 'get' the prices - no treatment or example. If you live in Atherton, you might be willing to pay $400/visit to do 15 minutes of laser for small area. Even then, it's impractical and improbable that the skill demonstrated is worth the 2-5x markup (vs. other places) that Stanford is charging. If price isn't an issue for you, the facilities are fine. The receptionist was kind of rude, but I'm giving two stars because the nurse I talked to was sympathetic and seemed fairly knowledgeable. The doctor had a nice bedside manner, during the 3 minutes he spoke to me, but he seemed preoccupied and it was definitely not worth the money to find out that I may be an okay candidate. Go elsewhere."
"I'm not into oversharing, so it absolutely pains me to leave a public review of a medical facility. I only do so because people are being ripped off here. I was charged 40x (yes, forty times) what my current dermatologist charges for a basic checkup here. Beware."
"I love Stanford Derm. D.r Pol-Rodriguez is a legend and I'm so heartened that future generations of derms are learning from her deft skill and exemplary bedside manner. Dr. Matthew Aaron Lewis is also excellent and deserves mention for his sharp sartorial style."
"Terrific medical professionals, actually over-qualified to handle my skin surgery leading to a great experience at a time that could have been pretty scary. Yes it was a small cancer. And yes the doctor got it all. Probably would not have spread elsewhere in my body, just kept getting larger...with the type it was. But it had to go and it's gone. Finest group of physicians and nurses you will ever find."
