"(I went a year ago so things may have changed) I'll start with the good, most of the staff are really nice the rules are pretty normal for these types of places it's more freedom in some ways and less in others for residential programs the house was nice food pretty good if your not a picky eater other kids were wonderful (but that changes) now on to the bad like I said in the beginning MOST of the staff are nice but the others it felt like they had some bizarre control complex, were unprofessional at times and just were rude and didn't know how to deal with panic attacks or stronger emotions. They had this weird thing where they said they didn't have any punishments but if someone had a breakdown or something we would get privileges taken away very quickly like outtings dessert or movie time, things that happened once a week if that. They would not let transgender kids share a room with others of the gender they identified with or even bathroom. You had to be in every group or do a worksheet it didn't matter if you were having a panic attack or whatever they seemed understaffed. You weren't allowed to call people outside of your family members. The school situation wasn't great I failed multiple classes when I was there. They would make frequent room changes would ask you who you would not want to share a room with and then put you with them so you could "get over your triggers" this not being the biggest problem since we weren't allowed in our rooms all day even to change clothes. In conclusion do I recommend this place, if you have outbursts and really bad panic attacks and are dealing with heavy mood swings or anger issues no however if you are dealing with something that is "calmer" (I guess is the best way to put it) than maybe but just be aware most places like these aren't ideal but this is the worst ones I've been to."
