"Dr. Roy Smith is by far the most professional, knowledgeable, caring and honest vet we've ever had the privilege of taking our 4 legged exotic children to for his excellent care & amazingly skilled successful life-saving surgeries; his expertise is exemplary and highly regarded by other vets ~ one of the absolute finest dedicated vets in the country who has taken time, in addition to his intense non-stop busy vet practice where he has performed surgeries *every* day through the years, to teach vets on weekends across the US & from other countries. We took our ‘kids’ to him when he practiced here in SoCal & have driven all the way up to Garberville for yet another incredibly delicate and successful surgery - can’t ever thank him enough for what he has done for our family & favorable impact on our lives. We understand he is retiring very soon and will miss him as we know many others will also. Dr. Roy – you have made such a positive difference in so many lives! "Staff was extremely courteous and professional. The key is to arrive at least one hour before they open in the morning. They have very limited spots available due to surgeries scheduled throughout the afternoons. The doctor was so kind and understanding and helpful. He truly cares for all of his patients. Unfortunately, since there is only one of him, it is near impossible for him to see every single person that walks in. But if you do arrive early enough, and get the chance to be seen, this doctor will do everything in his power to heal your pet. We brought in two dogs that got into a brush of foxtails, and the foxtails were imbedded deep in their paws, eyes, and ears and had created infections. We were so thankful for how the doctor was able to pull these foxtails out of the eyes and ears of the two pups. The doctor and his staff worked together on removing all the foxtails from their paws and skin. Below are some photos of what they removed.
