"I met Dr. Matthew in 2001. I was a type one diabetic from the age of 12. I was 42 years old when I met Dr. Matthew. My eyesight was pretty shot from type one diabetes. Blood pressure was high, and the kidneys were failing. In 2004 I received a call from a friend saying his son was hit over in Reading by a head on collision while he was on a bike. My friend wanted to give me his kidney and pancreas. I flew to San Francisco and have the surgery. When I got back, I was seeing Dr. Matthew three days a week. May 5, 2024 will be 20 years since the surgery. This man and his wife, Sarah have been my Lifesavers in the last 25 years. This man has called me from his office at 10:30 at night asking me questions about my families history. He is very thorough and everything he does. My doctor visits last sometimes 45 minutes to an hour and that’s with him in the room. It’s really amazing. I consider Dr. Matthew and his wife superstars in our community. I forgot to mention. He also sleeps at his office sometimes because he’s there so late, and he lives in McKinleyville. I realized that Dr. Matthew is one of the smartest people I have ever met and I am alive because of him. Thank you Dr. Matthew God bless you and your family."
