"Awful ER, avoid if you can. Took my partner in for a dog bite this evening and: - didn't clean the wound - sent the prescription to a different city than the one we live in - provided zero information on the discharge papers on how to clean and bandage the wound When my partner exited the ER room over 2 hours later, he was still holding a bloody paper towel and was visibly shaking. In the car, he told me about the experience and that they told him he couldn't leave until his blood pressure went down. As soon as we got home I called to ask why all of this happened, is this their standard of care? Why was the wound not cleaned? Why was he stuck in a room shivering and still bleeding, waiting for his blood pressure to drop? The person I was speaking with mocked me saying "it's not like he was chained to the bed and couldn't leave", I got extremely angry after that, and then she hung up on me. We will never be back here if we can help it. This event was extremely traumatic and was only made worse by this terrible ER experience."
"I don’t understand why people choose to work in healthcare if they hate their jobs. The staff here, including my doctor, Dr. Chow. were so incredibly rude and nasty for absolutely no reason. I remained positive and pleasant through all the excruciating pain. They did not make the experience any better. I do not recommend ever coming here. My nurse, who is blonde hair with eyeglasses white lady was an absolute nightmare. She had to puncture me twice I’m confused why she chose the circle closest to my tattoo at first and was unsuccessful clearly because there’s no vein there, if you see, I was discharged at 4 PM. It’s now 10 PM and look at my arm. My favorite thing is when nurses try to blame you saying that you moved when you did not that was her reasoning as to why she had to puncture me a second time, but why does it look like that if she is a professional? She obviously did not know what she was doing, putting the needle in and removing it. I’m actually in more pain now than I was. They rushed me out and did not care about treating me the properly way at all I actually had to go back to a different hospital this evening. do not waste your time coming here. How is that acceptable for my arm to look like this? Disgusted. Unprofessional. The white male who sits in front behind the glass that takes your vitals in the waiting room before you go back where the rooms are was so incredibly nasty too. It doesn’t hurt to smile. It doesn’t hurt to be kind to patients. That is your job. Especially in healthcare what a disappointment. Safe to say I’ll never return here again."
"Since Providence Mission Hospital took over South Coast Hospital the quality and services have consistently gone down or have been completely removed. Laguna Beach needs to return to providing a fully equipped community hospital with emergency and specialty Services for local communities and the hundreds of thousands of people who come every year to enjoy the natural beauty of Laguna Beach."
"I live across the street from this hospital. I'm currently going through treatment for AML and my PICC line dressing started to come off my skin before I had upcoming blood work. So, I went there on a Sunday and the staff couldn't have been nicer and kind. My FIRST visit there. Thankfully nurse Paul is a PICC line specialist and was able to help me. He's there only 2 days a month, so I was lucky! No one else could have handled it and I would have to go to their ER at Mission Viejo and it would have taken hours. Also, the NP, Joan was SO nice too and I'm very grateful for these two along with the staff. Amazing care and genuine empathy and kindness. Grateful!! Thank you!!!!"
"Great experience at the emergency room today, the doctor saw me after only 10 minutes of being in the room. The nurses were so kind and supportive. The CT scan was done right away. I’ve been coming here because it’s local. This is the best experience I’ve had after more than 20years of coming here. 5 stars for sure"
