"CMH in Ojai, Doctor “Chris” and the nurses there took really excellent care of my kid when there was an emergency situation. The nurses and doctors were very compassionate and also intelligent and careful in decision making."
"I am an estate planning attorney, I was called by a patient to prepare new Powers of Attorney to appoint family members as Agents and to amend his Trust to name family members as beneficiaries. His current agents for the Powers or Attorney, and the Trust Beneficiaries, are non-family members. I met with the patient, he was fully aware of the circumstances and made his intentions clear to me. One of the agents/ trust beneficiaries was present. On my way out I identified myself to the front desk and asked to speak to the ombudsman to discuss hospital policies concerning the execution of documents on the premises. Suffice to state that my client was immediately denied telephone access, been moved to a new room, been declared Covid positive, and denied any visitors. Hospital staff is acting on behalf of overreaching agents, which is a real disservice to their patient!"
"Quick surgery, in and out the same day. Great surgeon, Dr. Ashley Lamb orthopedics. She's awesome! Fixed me right up. Together with OT/PT I'm doing very well. Glad to have such a very skilled surgeon."
"This hospital is truly the worst. My dad was was having heart issues after his heart surgery and they misdiagnosed him with GURD when he actually had fluid around is heart and was at risk for heart failure. He has Afib and just had an ablation surgery at VCMC. While recovering a few days after surgery at home his pulse started racing and he couldn’t regulate his heart so we took him to the ER at Ojai Hospital. The hospital was told that he just had this procedure and they ignored that information and proceeded to misdiagnose him with GURD. They discharged him and said he was fine and sent him home. It was very clear he needed medical attention so we headed back to county medical in Ventura where he was accurately diagnosed and now receiving the appropriate care. There’s countless similar stories about this hospital and sadly I only seem to be hearing more of them. It’s the only hospital in Ojai and you may just want to go the extra distance to Ventura if possible. Good luck if you have to receive intensive care here."
"Clean surfacing. Temperatures Check Required/ Mask requirements. Compassionate staff. ICU Nursing Staff are very professional yet show empathy. Radiology team are fantastic, calm, clear with direction and patient. When you’re feeling overwhelmed with pain it’s very important that medical staff including receptionist , technicians EMT, can help you understand what they expect and the steps they will be asking of you. I was in tears with pain during my X-Ray, So I try to distract myself by asking questions about how they like the job. I find that the staff members that are passionate about their career are more empathetic, courteous and compassionate. Just calm and clear spoken. Thank you for being kind to a stranger who happens to be a client/patient. This makes a huge difference indeed. BlueSkies, Teresa"
