Santa Rita Hills Lavender Farm

"Denise and her son Lucas run the lavender and flower farm, harvest and distill by hand all their lavender products. While my wife talked to Denise about their farm and it's history. Lucas gave me a detailed explanation of the artisanal process they use to distill the lavender oils from the buds to extract the purest, most potent oil - like extra virgin olive oil it's time consuming and quantity limited but produces the best product. This was the best lavender farm we had visited in the larger Santa Barbara area. Their shop is small but well supplied with soaps, lotions, olive oil and honey from local bees. A little farther out from the Los Olivos area, but well worth the extra distance."

"A must, especially if you're local. We went there just to check it out based on searching online for nearby lavender farms. It exceeded our expectations. Although we weren't able to book a tour beforehand, Lucas graciously offered us a quick tour of the property. Very pretty farm, perfect for pictures. Summer is the ideal time to go here because that's when the flowers bloom. They also have animals and a field of other flowers."

"My family and I loved our visit to Santa Rita Hills lavender farm! The owners are so welcoming and knowledgeable. They gave us a wonderful tour jam-packed with interesting facts and anecdotes about growing lavender, as well as all the other flora and fauna on the farm - a variety of gorgeous flowers, honey bees, goats, and more. The lavender itself was in full bloom when we visited, and walking through the fields was a magical experience - it was so calming to be surrounded by seas of waving lavender. We couldn’t leave without some goodies from the farm stand - lavender satchels, shower bombs, and edible lavender for cooking, as well as farm fresh eggs. Our visit was one of the highlights of our trip to Santa Barbara for sure! Definitely give this lovely spot a visit!"

"Lovely lavender farm, if you visit Solvang it’s just a short drive from there. I spent two hours just to admire the beauty. The owner and her son are really nice, highly recommend to book a tour, Lucas is the best, he explains about lavender and plants around the farm, I learn a lot. Bring your kids, they will happy to see farm animals."
