"This place looks so cute driving up. A little Mom and Pop place. Ends up that it's a popular place to smoke pot and play music all night. I am not against mj at all. This stuff smelled like nothing I have smelled before. My eyes burned in the middle of the night and our neighbor was having a jam session at 2am. He was pretty good too. We just had to get up fairly early and needed some sleep. I called the front desk twice and ended up leaving a message. No one was there to help. We ended up knocking on the wall a few times to get their attention and they kindly stopped. The location of this place is great however the place itself sucks. It's too bad. Who has $250 a night for a one star motel..."

"Looking for inexpensive lodging in Coronado? This is it. Bed was comfortable. Our room was one of the updated ones. Nothing stellar, not dirty and not sparkling either. It was fine. We had no issues with thin walls that other reviews mentioned. On Orange Ave, it's busy and there is street noise. The pool is small but nice and plenty of chairs, umbrellas, towels. The location is great, short walk to the ferry landing, or a longer (like 1 mile) flat easy walk to the beach and hotel del Coronado. Plenty to eat and shop for in the neighborhood. The bikes are older 1-speed cruisers, it's all you need on Coronado, and they're free to borrow. In short, this is decent basic accommodations."

"During our stay, we had no heat throughout the night (which was a cold one) and no hot water in the morning. At the end, unable to fix the problems and unwilling to change our room, they put a space heater in our room and said they would give us a complimentary night stay for our next visit. When we tried to book our next visit, they reneged and did not honor the free night promise. There are so many other options on Coronado. Save yourself the awful experience and stay away from this place."

"The short version: AVOID THIS HOTEL LIKE THE PLAGUE. This place forced me to sleep outside after a long flight from the east coast, and ended up screwing me over at the end. I would not recommend this place to anyone who places any shred of value in customer service. The king version: Take me as a lesson in being too patient. I was traveling on orders and had a late flight, which I had communicated to the staff. I flew in at 1 in the morning and arrived to the hotel at about 2 to find the front desk was not staffed. Fine, that’s not really a problem, they left a lockbox outside with my name on it, presumably with the key to my room. Unfortunately, nobody had the idea to text or email me a code. I called the on call staff phone around 20-30 times and nobody picks up. I’m not even sure if this on call phone exists, or if the staff is too unprofessional to carry it with them at home despite knowing that a late check in is expected. This is what you pay for when you book the cheapest hotel in Coronado. I ended up sleeping in my car that night. The sign on the front desk said they would re open at 7am, so I woke up at 7 and waited an extra 30 minutes for the staff to arrive late. They offered to comp me for the night, and offered free parking during my stay. Despite my best judgement, I decided to spend the rest of my stay here. Everyone told me I was crazy and should find a new hotel, but I assumed because they dropped the ball so hard that maybe they would make up for it somehow. Nope. The day I checked out, I see a charge for the car parking on the bill. The lady tells me there is nothing she can do despite my reminder that this place screwed me over after my late arrival. I should have taken my money elsewhere the minute I was unable to get in touch with anyone that night."
