Hotel Normandie LA

"I realized I've never written a review for Hotel Normandie, even though I've stayed here several times and will be back soon. I've stayed all over LA, and all over the country, and what keeps me coming back when I'm in town is the staff, location, and cleanliness. I've had some small issues here or there, but you're in LA - cleanliness and safety is the most important factor, especially when alone. The staff here, everyone really, but specifically the front desk manager, Adam, have been exceptional. And my experiences are consistent every time I'm back. The gym close by and locking of the front door late night made this the only place I stay now when in the city. Cassell's is also a cute diner connected you can charge to your room. I tend to work there and eat when I have downtime (they also have a full bar). In nice weather, I really love sitting outside at the few tables. Highly recommend Hotel Normandie!"

"A lot of places try to be hip by combining modern and classic and I felt like, for once, this place nailed it. That applies to the atmosphere as well as the service which was helpful and down to earth. Good food and service in the diner downstairs as well, and a huge amount of great Korean food options within 2 or 3 blocks. Stayed here with our two kids who had been stuck on a plane for hours and had to constantly tell them to stop jumping around in the room because it is a ~100yr old building and I'm sure it was loud for the room below. Good water pressure and showerhead."

"This old hotel build in 1926 was quite a special experience. The service here was great, the rooms were well appointed but the neighborhood was dreadful. We weren’t afraid to be out and about but the streets were filthy and litter was everywhere. We had our small dog with us but couldn’t put her down for long or she would start eating the garbage that was lying around."

"A good hotel in the middle of Korea Town. Close to restaurants and shops. Only 15 minutes to Hollywood, Universal Studios and more. Great service from the staff, there is always staff in the lobby, 24/7.. Fresh coffee every morning in the lobby. However, the parking is very expensive, 40$ per night. The room is okay, very good cleaning with clean towels every day. Good bathroom and such, but very responsive from the street. You can almost hear people talking outside. fridge, coffee maker, etc., worked fine."

"Stayed for a long weekend. My room was great. I had a very nice view, which I know isn't the norm here given its surrounded by other buildings. The stairs are strange but in a good way. The staff was so helpful and always seemed happy to help. The historic feel is cozy. The water closets are a hidden gem."
