"My family and I regret staying here due to the noisy street/location/bar/ homeless men that surrounds the hotel, ( there is never a quiet moment) the ridiculous hidden charges and fees and tiny rooms with no view of anything other than trash cans. There is no coffee maker or microwave in any of the rooms. Never returning and definitely don’t recommend to anyone I care about."

"I am currently organizing a boycott of this and other hotels ran by the Catalina Island Company. They have an inability to accept one iota of responsibility for accidents caused on their behalf. Just never, and I mean NEVER get injured while on the island because YOU will be the one who pays for EVERYTHING. They work with Liberty Mutual scum of the earth lawyers who fight tooth and nail in order to avoid any compensation for horrible accidents that they caused.. and I am not talking about money hungry clientele eager to sue for millions. I’m talking about compensating a hospital bill for broken bones after falling down the stairs during a fire alarm evacuation at 2 am when there was no fire. They will twist the story around and take absolutely no responsibility and not even give any sign of concern, apology or sheer human decency. The Avalon hospital is also incredibly expensive and isn’t covered by many insurance providers. I grew up going to Catalina all my life and always encouraged everyone to go but this has opened my eyes unfortunately and now I am in the process of encouraging everyone NOT to go due to how very unsafe and clearly unethical this company is. If you read more about it, you’ll come across many other disturbing stories of how mob-like and depraved this whole company is. I urge and implore everyone to support other hotels, restaurants and all establishments unaffiliated. There are many better places to support..and plus the rooms are cramped, the fire alarm goes off every other day at any given hour AND there is no coffee maker or microwave in any of the rooms. I mean, is this the Stone Age? Also, there’s no room in existence with a view of the ocean."

"Great Hotel with 5 stars customer service! All the staff are very friendly, helpful and polite. The ambience at the hotel is perfect, very quiet and relaxing. It’s close to every restaurant, shop and the beach walking distance to hiking trails also. Definitely recommend this place and would come back."

"I had a wonderful experience at this hotel! We wanted a better view so they quickly switched us to a different room and it was beautiful. The hotel was clean and the staff were so nice and accommodating. Front desk workers were so sweet. Also super close to vons and anything else really. The room is tighter (we got a one queen bed room) but was still very comfortable. Loved it there and will be staying again!"
