Reviews
"I recently switched to Main Street Dentist because of their great patient care and up to date equipment . I loved my old dentist That I went to for years but I feel his office was just not up to todays standards. I had a fantastic experience at Main Street Dentists. When I came in Ann was incredibly welcoming and efficient. Alyssa, the assistant was very attentive, made me feel at ease, knew how to do her job extremely well and was very comforting. She was amazing. She did everything fast and efficient. I heard a lot of other workers asking her questions. So she must be the go to for others. Dr. Kate's expertise and gentle approach made my dental visit a positive one. Both Dr.Kate and Alyssa made me feel like I was at a friends house getting dental work done. I highly recommend this office for their exceptional team and quality care."
"I logged on to share thoughts on my recent visit with Main St. Dentists in Verona and saw one of the recent reviews and feel even more compelled to share as my experience was vastly different, which I see overwhelmingly is true in other comments. I have a mouth full of trouble (my fears, my neglect) so I have purposely avoided visiting a dentist for years. Thinking it was time to be brave and address my oral care I made a call in late November and was not able to get in until after the new year started. I know that this time tends to be particularly busy at all care providers as many are trying to use their yearly benefits before the next plan year rolls over, so did not think that was unreasonable. I have extreme anxiety and sensitivity issues. My main concern was 2 old fillings that had fallen out and the teeth were breaking away leaving large sharp holes that made seeing Dr. Kate necessary. I was greeted with a friendly, professional, concerned Dentist and staff. An explanation of what needed to be done was completely communicated and all questions answered/concerns were addressed. They shared a play by play of the things that were happening at the moment. Although this is not an enjoyable process for me, this made it as absolutely painless as possible. I left there relatively pain free with 2 super impressive 3D made teeth. I was surprised by the feedback in the other review about the technology because I was very impressed with the capability to decide this was needed and fully complete that process in the matter of a few hours. That is technology that is not available everywhere and appreciated for those of use that know we need to care better for our mouths, but don’t want any extra visits. Yes there was drilling, vibration, but there were also repeated kind, caring words asking about my level of comfort. I could not have had a better Doctor or overall office experience. I would definitely go back for one of my least favorite things to do and recommend the Main Street Dental group. Parking is not the best BUT come on, the service was! From the second you walk in the door until the second you leave, it is clear that the entire team works really hard to provide high-quality care and has extreme concern for their patients and sensitivity to their varying levels of comfort with dental visits."
"Short story- Avoid if you have any kind of dental anxiety. I chose to switch to Main Street Dental due to it being the ONLY area dentist with even the slightest nod to more holistic practices. Madison is lacking in this area. They recognize airway issues which no one else around here does and and they have some safeguards in place for removing mercury (although not SMART which is correct protocol to keep dentist and patient safe was better than nothing.) I called in November and they said they weren’t taking new patients until the new year, so I waited TWO months for this appt!!! I have some big dental anxiety and takes me a bit to trust a provider due to issues in the past with dentists simply “drilling and filling” areas that really didn’t need it. My goal for this year was to tackle my oral health. Due to all the drilling and filling a dentist in the area did 12+ years ago many of those are starting to fall apart. New cavities have also come up. I know I have a lot of work to be done. I went in for X-rays and an exam hoping to come up with a treatment plan together and take things slow. I have very sensitive teeth after having kids (and currently nursing) and past dentists have offered to clean parts of my mouth at a time while using numbing agents. Or clean an area before they worked on it while it was already numb. My hope was to come up with the plan and tackle some of the fillings and cavities asap. The dentist I saw today greeted me with a strange “how can I help you”? while staring… (umm I’m at the dentist??) And talked in a condescending tone the whole time. I explained my story a bit. I have some anxiety. Would like to come up with a plan etc. Then without looking in my mouth basically said they wouldn’t see me due to my dental anxiety (and told me I need sedation dentistry which I don’t want. Honestly- no chat about options. Medications I could take from my PCP who is more than willing to get me help take the edge off, etc… ) She wouldn’t entertain using X-rays and a visual exam to come up with a plan (which other dentists have done) and start chipping away at some of the fillings. Didn’t offer to take a cleaning slow, use numbing agents, etc etc… said it was my gums and inflammation ( which if she would have looked in my mouth she would have seen I have healthy gums. They don’t bleed, they aren’t painful. It’s areas of molars that are painful which past dentists have treated with a simple “painted on” solution) But those sensitive spots hurt when a hygienist scrapes at my teeth (I would rather not hit the ceiling during a cleaning) So after wasting 2 hours of my morning I left. Which whatever - if this is their preference fine… but even getting to the dentist is a hassle due to a medical need for a child, already taking a ton of time off for that and then carving out more time for this. It’s extremely difficult to get more time off. So not only did we arrange that, now I have to do it again for another dentist “new patient appt” and start over. AFTER waiting 2 months for this when I could have started tackling these issues months ago!!! In my initial phone call I did try telling the receptionist I had some anxiety and she just talked over me and said “mmmmkay see you then BYE” and hung up. When they called about my appt reminder I asked about cleaning options due to sensitive teeth and some anxiety and they said nothing other than- they can discuss when you get here. I guess if this office doesn’t want to see patients with dental anxiety, they should pre screen patients on the phone so we aren’t wasting each others time. overall- If you’re looking for a place who understands dental anxiety, works with patients for a customized plan (not just a one size fits all approach), and takes things slow, this is not the place. Also Building is old and outdated with no parking lot. Very hard in winter. And Definitely not a state of the art office/ equipment seemed dated. Probably for the best they won’t see me."
"This is the best dental office in Dane County! I saw Dr. S & was blown away at the comprehensive treatment I was provided. She is filled with great information & care for her patients, as is the entire staff. I recommend Main St. Dentists 10x over!"
"So many great things to say about this practice! I am a newer patient of Main Street Dentists but not new to dental work. I have gone to 3 different dentists in the Madison area throughout the course of my adult life and am so far most impressed by Main Street Dentists! You are greeted with smiles and treated like family, not a patient number. I also clicked right away with my hygienist who did a fabulous job. Dr. John and Dr. Kate are also very personable and extremely knowledgeable at what they do. I couldn't have felt more comfortable at my visit. I am so happy I found this practice and made the switch. Keep up the fantastic work Main Street Dentists!"
