Navy Lodge Monterey

"Great place to stay in Monterey. The only downside is that the elevator does not work. Good continental breakfast, which includes pastries, plain bagels, boiled eggs, oj, and apple juice. Fresh brewed coffee and fresh fruit. Rooms are deluxein size (Large studio with adequate closet space. There is a full refrigerator and microwave . Shower but no bathtub. A good value for location and accommodations."

"This was some time ago, but I feel like it needs to be known about this place. I used my units credit card to pay for Soldiers in my sister unit. Another Soldier stayed at this location that was at the time associated with my sister unit, but the stay was leisure, not business. I guess the Soldier skipped out on his bill, so the hotel took it upon themselves to charge my units credit card without permission and would not refund the money until the Soldier paid off his leisure trip. And they had the nerve to have an attitude with me as if I was the one that did their establishment wrong. Even when I contacted the main hotel branch or whatever it is called, they kept trying to bring up what the Soldier did as an excuse for taking over my units credit card without authorization. They are a real piece of work, had all that audacity, I really hope the woman/women who had those attitudes with me, get what they deserve one day because they were wrong. That is all; again, this isn’t current, it happen, it popped in my head, and I decided to come to their google page and leave a bad review simply because I can and to let people know the kind of business they do here at this location."

"Paper thin walls-could hear the conversation of room next door. Breakfast is a paper bag with bagel/fruit/granola bar. Cheap price compared to neighboring hotels. Had to ask for toilet paper and toiletries each day and take out own trash daily because they were not servicing the room. Staff is very friendly but I would stay at the Hotel Del Monte next time instead."

"Basic rooms at an incredible price. Kitchenette with coffee maker is a bonus because the lobby coffee doesn't come out until 0630. Although they say breakfast is included, it's a sack reminiscent of the free breakfast in elementary school. Beats being hungry. Since there's a fridge you can avoid the sack lunch, if you choose. I'd stay there again but only on the second floor. The reverb from lack of carpet padding and wall insulation makes it sound like an elephant trail. Luckily, I travel with ear plugs so it was a very nice stay. Oh, and the wifi is hideous and the signal for Verizon (travel mate) and T-Mobile (me) was spotty all through Monterey so I recommend downloading a map for offline use before you arrive. Enjoy your trip."

"For military, this is a great place to stay. W/ Airbnb rates being so pricey these days, it no longer makes sense to do all the work to check out when you can stay at the Naval Lodge for just as cheap. Close to some historic and scenic sites and great nearby hiking trails. Prices are competitive and rooms are very nice. Just plan ahead because they get booked up fast oftentimes!"
