"So everyone I’ve interacted with there is very kind and has great customer service. But it was a roller coaster for me to get my MRI. First, couldn’t get ahold of anyone to schedule anything after my provider faxed my referral over, finally scheduled something online. Next, they miscoded my paperwork, saying my provider, who uses them regularly, was not an eligible referrer. They told me this two days before my MRI, which means they didn’t send anything to my insurance, which meant I couldn’t go in. Then, my insurance denied the request. However, my provider talked to them and got it approved. But SimonMed went ahead and canceled my appointment without telling me. So I showed up and found out my appointment was canceled. Eventually they squeezed me in a couple days later. But it delayed care for me by a month when I had been in a lot of pain. Lastly, I think their rates went up a ton and I didn’t know I had to pay that much upfront when I went in. Again, everyone I spoke with was very kind, but this left a sour taste in my mouth. Unfortunately there aren’t a lot of options for MRIs in San Francisco, so this is just going to be what it is."
"Everything about this place was awesome! There had been a mix-up with the doctor's order and it wasn't there when I arrived for my appointment. The receptionist went over and above and talked to the doctor on the phone and got it fixed. The MRI tech and his intern were wonderful and very efficient. They gave me extra blankets and always asked how I was doing. I was taken in right on time. The facility was very clean. My only complaint is not about the individual facility or staff, it's corporate. After 3 pm, if you call on the phone it rings 4 or 5 times and then hangs up. No outgoing message or explanation. You can't tell if it's an accident or what's happening. It's very confusing and unprofessional, especially because pretty much anyone who's calling is probably sick. Just put on a message letting people know to call back tomorrow. Other than that, everything was absolutely wonderful."
"The technician was professional and efficient. However, the receptionist was rude. She asked, “Did they tell you this procedure isn’t covered by your insurance?” I replied that it was, indeed, covered and that I had an authorization. Rather than apologizing for making a mistake, she just shoved a clipboard at me and told me to fill out forms. This was my second visit to this site. The first time I left when the receptionist asked “did they tell you this procedure isn’t covered by insurance. (I was not told when I called to make the appointment the first time). Some of your people need better customer service training."
"My technician was great. Pleasant and professional. The first person of contact at check in was very professional. To the point of robotic. There was little warmth (compared to the person sitting next to her with the task of helping a patient that didn’t speak English who patiently looked for resources and creative ways she could help. My check in person pointed and spoke as if I knew exactly what she was referring to and that I had done this before. I found my pretty intelligent self asking for clarification of the abbreviated communication and needing to ask what to expect. All in all it was acceptable. But after taking BART and walking to Chinatown for an appointment and then walking to the imaging center with nearly 5 miles of walking that day I would have embraced a cheerful reception to the center."
"I would love to thank Sierra and Te’ana (front desk) for their kindness and excellent customer service. Thank you to my CT tech Greg and X-ray tech for a compassionate and speedy procedure, while taking quality images of my back. Smooth process from the moment I got a same day appointment. It was worth it driving in traffic. Facility is clean and well organized. I appreciate people that are kind and helpful, you are all definitely an amazing team. -Ana"
