Reviews of Gold Bluffs Beach Campground
"A very very nice campground. But I would say that if you are in a camping vehicle that isn't a car it is a bit of a squeeze. I didn't realize that the sites only have a little pull off for vehicles, not an actual pull-in site. Which is fine, and probably my fault for not looking in depth enough. I'm adding a photo to show what I'm talking about. We didn't block the road around the campground or anything, but it was not ideal. Still 5 stars because it was a very scenic campground and if I was in a tent I would for sure stay here again. But maybe not in a truck camper. The waves were a very nice sound to wake up to though. The road in is a bit steep and narrow at times, fine for one vehicle but it can be a tad sketchy if you encounter oncoming traffic."
"Really remote and beautiful campground. Tons of great trails to explore. Gorgeous elk right on the beach."
"Beautiful beach and scenery that deserved a 5 star rating. Most of the campsites are not big enough though for two vehicles to park in, so get your own spot. Also no level tent areas in some spots, tough to camp in a tent. Overall condition of camp is ok, not great. Campground seems neglected to me and could use some attention and some of Governor Newsom’s overly taxed California citizens dollars. Doesn’t anyone know how to fix plumbing in the state of California? I mean time for some plumber to fix the showers. Bathrooms were clean. Be prepared for rainy conditions on the beach too. You will be wet in a tent, so drive your tiny van down there instead."
"Beautiful smaller Oceanside campground. Road in unpaved, long, dusty and narrow in places, but worth the drive if you are in a car or van. Nice clean individual bathrooms and shower stalls with plenty of hot water. No hookups. Ocean on one side and forested cliffs on the other side. Shrubbery and foliage provides privacy between sites. Plus our lifetime national parks pass was honored here, so it was the cheapest state park we’ve camped at during our journey up the California coast. Very nice!"
"Our favorite campground on the coast. The camp rangers were so kind and helpful. The bathrooms were spotless with warm water. Showers...beautiful campsites. Quiet, lovely neighbors not subjecting us to pounding music and riotous drunkenness....just the sound of waves and wind on the tent."
